Structural Studies of Hydrographenes

Accounts of Chemical Research, 2017
As a result of the unique physical and electrical properties, graphene continues to attract the interest of a large segment of the scientific community. Since graphene does not occur naturally, the ability to exfoliate and isolate individual layers of graphene from graphite is an important and challenging process.

Structural Studies on Adenoviruses

2003
The adenovirus genome encodes more than 40 proteins, of which 11 combine with the viral DNA to form an icosahedral capsid of approximately 150 MDa molecular weight and approximately 900 A in diameter. This chapter reviews the information that structural biology techniques have provided about the adenovirus proteins and capsid.

Structural Studies of Immunoglobulins

Science, 1973
In 1946, when I was starting work as research student under the supervision of Dr F. Sanger, the second edition of Karl Lansteiner's book” The Specificity of Serological Reactions’[I] reached England. In it was summarized the considerable body of information available on the range of antibody specificity and much of it was Landsteiner's own work or by ...

Studies on the structure of myosin

Journal of Molecular Biology, 1962
The structure of myosin has been studied by an examination of the products of tryptic digestion, light meromyosin (LMM) and heavy meromyosin (HMM). The major portion of LMM, obtained by alcohol fractionation, is light meromyosin fraction 1 (LMM Fr. 1). This fully α -helical molecule amounts to about 25% of myosin.

Structural Studies of Cyclotides

2015
Over the last two decades, the cyclotides have generated widespread interest both in the plant biology and peptide communities for a number of reasons, including their physiological roles in plants, evolution, and wide range of biological activities with potential therapeutic applications.

Structural studies on desmosomes

Biochemical Society Transactions, 2008
Desmosomes are cadherin-based intercellular junctions that primarily provide mechanical stability to tissues such as epithelia and cardiac muscle. Desmosomal cadherins, which are Ca2+-dependent adhesion molecules, are of central importance in mediating direct intercellular interaction.

Structural studies on tazobactam

Journal of Medicinal Chemistry, 1991
Tazobactam (3, C10H12N4O5S) is an effective inhibitor of bacterial beta-lactamases. It crystallizes with unit cell dimensions a = 10.230 (2) A, b = 14.396 (2) A, and c = 17.291 (2) A in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1). Compared to the related inhibitor sulbactam (2), which lacks the triazole ring, crystalline tazobactam exhibits very similar beta-lactam ...

Studies on the structure of the haemagglutinin

Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society of London. B, Biological Sciences, 1980
Abstract The biosynthesis of the haemagglutinin glycoproteins of infectious influenza virus particles involves proteolytic cleavage of the primary translation products and the amino acid sequences at the two sites of processing are presented. In addition, details of the primary structure of the haemagglutinin of A /Japan/305/57 (H2N1)

Energetic and Structural Study of Bisphenols

The Journal of Physical Chemistry A, 2014
We have studied thermochemical, thermophysical and structural properties of bisphenols A, E, F, and AP. In particular, the standard enthalpies of sublimation and the standard enthalpies of formation in the gas phase at 298.15 K for all these species were experimentally determined.

Structural studies on a starfish trypsin

Comparative Biochemistry and Physiology Part B: Comparative Biochemistry, 1976
Abstract 1. 1. Structural studies have been carried out on a protease isolated from the starfish Dermasterias imbricata in order to determine whether the enzyme is homologous with vertebrate trypsins. The amino acid composition of the starfish enzyme was found to be similar to other tryptic enzymes. 2. 2. A labeled peptide was isolated from
