Antiglycation and Amyloid‐β Inhibitory Activities of Pandanus odorifer Extracts and Isolated Constituents: In Vitro and Molecular Docking Insights

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Pandanus odorifer methanolic extract exhibited strong antiglycation activity, moderate antioxidant capacity, and high flavonoid content. Three isolated compounds reduced Aβ‐associated ThT fluorescence, with blumenol C glucoside showing the greatest effect.

The role of complement in synaptic degeneration

open access: yes, 2012
Synapse loss is an early event of many neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer?s disease and Parkinson?s disease. The causes and mechanisms that underpin synapse dysfunction and degeneration are poorly understood.

Successful Transcatheter Valve-in-Valve Implantation in a Small Deteriorated Aortic Valve Bioprosthesis

open access: yes, 2013
Increased life expectancy and improvement in clinical outcome following surgery has led to an increasing number of elderly patients with a history of prior aortic valve replacement (AVR).

Broadening horizons: Pathogenesis and therapeutics of renal ciliopathies

open access: yesJournal of Cell Communication and Signaling, Volume 20, Issue 3, September 2026.
This review elucidates the molecular mechanisms and aberrant signaling pathways in renal ciliopathies, links genetic heterogeneity to clinical phenotypes, and lays a theoretical basis for prenatal diagnosis and novel therapies. Abstract Renal ciliopathies encompass a spectrum of genetic disorders arising from structural or functional impairments of ...

Crosstalk Between Cortical Plasticity and Peripheral Nervous Injury: Insights, Mechanisms, and Future Directions

open access: yesCNS Neuroscience &Therapeutics, Volume 32, Issue 9, September 2026.
Peripheral nerve injury induces dynamic cortical plasticity, driven by molecular mechanisms such as BDNF and neurotransmitter systems. This review synthesizes subtype‐specific plasticity patterns: compressive injuries trigger rapid reorganization, while metabolic neuropathies lead to maladaptive changes.

A Review of Fault‐Tolerant Control Applications in Process Equipment: Boilers, Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Turbines, and Engines for Greater Reliability

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 8, Issue 9, September 2026.
The article explores ways such as ultrasonic guided wave testing, infrared thermography, acoustic emission, vibration analysis, and oil analysis to prevent faults from affecting the plant and help with fault isolation. It focuses on how FTC is combined with modern tools like Artificial Intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), sliding mode ...

Characteristic calcification behavior of five surgical aortic valve bioprostheses models: An in vitro study

open access: yesHealth Science Reports
Background and Aims The durability of surgical aortic valve bioprostheses (SAV) is limited by the calcification of the leaflets, which results in degeneration. In clinical routine, there seems to be substantial variability in the degeneration of specific

The first experience of two-stage transcatheter implantation of bioprostheses in mitral and tricuspid valve (Valve-in-Valve) prostheses in a high-risk surgical patient

open access: yesТрансплантология (Москва)
Introduction. Structural degeneration of biological prosthetic heart valves is an inevitable complication in the long term, requiring repeated surgery. Repeated open surgery is associated with a high risk in comorbid patients.

Recent advances in spin‐orbit torque and magnetization switching of transition metal oxides

open access: yesInfoScience, Volume 3, Issue 3, September 2026.
This review systematically introduces recent advances in transition metal oxides spintronics, including the underlying mechanisms of spin current generation and related symmetry theory, the magnetization switching processes driven by spin currents and magnon currents, respectively, as well as their corresponding transport properties, finally presenting
