Effect of cold sintering temperatures on the microstructure and mechanical properties of BaZr0.7Ce0.2Y0.1O3-δ proton conductors

open access: yesMaterials & Design
Conventional sintering of barium zirconate cerates for proton-conducting ceramic membranes requires high temperatures (1500–1600 °C) and long dwell times (>24 h), leading to Ba evaporation that negatively impacts conductivity. This study adapted the cold

Multiple-Width Bus Partitioning Approach to Datapath Synthesis

open access: yes, 2007
A shared bus is a suitable structure for minimizing the interconnections costs in system synthesis. It has also been shown that the word-length of Functional Units has a great impact on design costs. A combination of both methods is used in this paper in

L‐aspartate oxidase provides new insights into fumarate reduction in anaerobic darkness in Synechocystis sp. PCC6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Synechocystis strains deficient in succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) secrete more succinate than the WT under dark anaerobic conditions, supporting that SDH then primarily acts as SDH, not as a fumarate reductase. L‐aspartate oxidase (Laspo) from Synechocystis is functional under anaerobic conditions, reducing fumarate to succinate.

Synthesis, structure, and antimicrobial activity of aminated 5-chloro-6-nitrobenzofurazan with substituted anilines

open access: yesУчёные записки Казанского университета: Серия Естественные науки, 2017
A simple and efficient procedure for synthesis of nucleophilc aromatic substitution products in benzofurazan cycle on the basis of reactions of substituted anilines with 5-chloro-6-nitrobenzofurazan has been elaborated. The obtained products have a broad

A Polymer‐Intercalated Modulation Assembly Strategy Towards Mesoporous Single‐Crystalline BiVO4 Materials for Enhanced Photocatalytic Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Science
The rapid recombination of photogenerated electron–hole pairs is a bottleneck constraining the improvement of photocatalytic efficiency. The construction of porous single‐crystalline BiVO4 is expected to resolve this issue and provide plenty of active ...

RNA‐related functions of BRCA2 in transcription, replication, and genome stability

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in homologous recombination, BRCA2 regulates R‐loop homeostasis, DNA–RNA hybrid resolution, RNA polymerase II dynamics, and transcriptional activation. Disruption of any of these functions can contribute to genome instability, inflammatory signaling, and tumorigenesis. BRCA2 is a central tumor suppressor protein best known for its roles
