Varieties of Distributive Rotational Lattices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
summary:A rotational lattice is a structure $\langle L;\vee ,\wedge , g\rangle $ where $L=\langle L;\vee ,\wedge \rangle $ is a lattice and $g$ is a lattice automorphism of finite order.

Two-dimensional boron nitride allotrope Irida-B12N12 with 3-6-8 membered rings and wide-bandgap semiconducting properties

open access: yesScientific Reports
We present a novel two-dimensional (2D) boron nitride allotrope, Irida- $$\hbox {B}_{{12}}$$ B 12 $$\hbox {N}_{{12}}$$ N 12 (Ir-BN), analogous to the all-carbon Irida-Graphene (Ir-G).

Grain Refinement During Severe Plastic Deformation and Similitude of Subgrain Formation: A Molecular Dynamics Study

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Molecular dynamics is used to investigate structure refinement during severe plastic deformation. The results show similitude with experimental data. Molecular dynamics simulations of severe plastic deformation of monocrystalline and polycrystalline samples by multiaxial compression of aluminum are carried out.

Decoding complexity and trellis structure of lattices [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Decoding operation is the major obstacle associated with using a lattice in communication applications. There are two general methods for lattice decoding: i) The integer programming method based on geometry of numbers, and ii) The trellis method.

Passive vibration control using a metaconcrete thin plate

open access: yesCerâmica
We investigated the band structure of flexural waves propagating in a metaconcrete thin plate, consisting of a concrete matrix reinforced by steel inclusions coated by rubber in square and triangular lattices.

Triple Junctions as Dislocation‐Like Defects: The Role of Grain Boundary Crystallography Revealed by Experiment and Atomistic Simulation

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Grain boundary triple junctions are an essential ingredient of the microstructure of polycrystalline materials. In this study, a triple junction is observed using atomic‐resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and characterized. Computer simulations reveal that the junction has a dislocation character that is determined by the joining ...

Characterizations of rings and modules by means of lattices

open access: yes, 1965
PhDIn this thesis we study the relationship between the lattice of submodules and the algebraic structure of a module. The key remark in our study will be the fact that the homomorphisms between two independent submadules of a module can be ...

Geometric Lattice Structure of Covering-Based Rough Sets through Matroids

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2012
Covering-based rough set theory is a useful tool to deal with inexact, uncertain, or vague knowledge in information systems. Geometric lattice has been widely used in diverse fields, especially search algorithm design, which plays an important role in ...

Stretching the Printability Metric in Direct‐Ink Writing with Highly Extensible Yield‐Stress Fluids

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces “drawability” as a new metric for assessing printability in direct‐ink writing, focusing on gap‐spanning performance and speed robustness. By designing yield‐stress fluids with high extensibility, we demonstrate that extensional strain‐to‐break significantly enhances printability.

Laser‐Induced Graphene from Waste Almond Shells

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Almond shells, an abundant agricultural by‐product, are repurposed to create a fully bioderived almond shell/chitosan composite (ASC) degradable in soil. ASC is converted into laser‐induced graphene (LIG) by laser scribing and proposed as a substrate for transient electronics.
