Extreme and Topological Dissipative Solitons with Structured Matter and Structured Light
Structuring of matter with nanoobjects allows one to generate soliton-like light bundles with extreme characteristics—temporal duration and spatial dimensions. On the other hand, structuring of light gives the possibility to form light bundles with

Structured illumination microscopy using micro-pixellated light-emitting diodes [PDF]
Structured illumination is a flexible and economical method of obtaining optical sectioning in wide-field microscopy [1]. In this technique the illumination system is modified to project a single-spatial frequency grid pattern onto the sample [2, 3]. The

In this study, we present the structure of AcrIE8.1, a previously uncharacterized anti‐CRISPR protein that inhibits the type I‐E CRISPR‐Cas system. Through a combination of structural and biochemical analyses, we demonstrate that AcrIE8.1 directly binds to the Cas11 subunit of the Cascade complex to inhibit the CRISPR‐Cas system.

Surface Reconstruction Adopting Laser Plane of Linear Path System Registered by Parallel Constraint
A surface reconstruction technology, which is contributed from the parallel constraint between two laser planes, is introduced and achieved by a laser projector guided by a linear path system.

An intracellular transporter mitigates the CO2‐induced decline in iron content in Arabidopsis shoots
This study identifies a gene encoding a transmembrane protein, MIC, which contributes to the reduction of shoot Fe content observed in plants under elevated CO2. MIC is a putative Fe transporter localized to the Golgi and endosomal compartments. Its post‐translational regulation in roots may represent a potential target for improving plant nutrition ...

Nonlinear Metasurface for Structured Light with Tunable Orbital Angular Momentum
Orbital angular momentum (OAM) beams may create a new paradigm for the future classical and quantum communication systems. A majority of existing OAM beam converters are bulky, slow, and cannot withstand high powers.

Hematopoietic (stem) cells—The elixir of life?
The aging of HSCs (hematopoietic stem cells) and the blood system leads to the decline of other organs. Rejuvenating aged HSCs improves the function of the blood system, slowing the aging of the heart, kidney, brain, and liver, and the occurrence of age‐related diseases.
