The Extended Effect of Top-Dressed Recovered Struvite Fertiliser on Residual Irish Grassland Soil Phosphorus Levels Compared to Commercial Phosphorus Fertiliser

open access: yesAgronomy, 2021
Phosphorus (P) is an essential growth-limiting nutrient that cannot be synthetically produced. Mineral P fertilisers are typically applied to crops to sustain modern farming practice and food production.

Evaluation of Novel Isatin–Schiff Base Derivatives: Monoamine Oxidase Inhibition and Antimicrobial Assessment

open access: yesChemMedChem, Volume 21, Issue 16, 27 August 2026.
Five novel series of isatin–Schiff base derivatives are synthesized and evaluated for neuroprotective and anti‐infective potential. The compounds demonstrate exceptional, reversible, and competitive monoamine oxidase inhibition, with chloro‐substitutions dictating isoform selectivity.

Injectable Bone Cements: A Generational Framework for Bioactivity, Porosity, and Mechanobiological Design at the Nanoscale

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
Key demographic, biological, and material considerations that drive the need for advanced injectable bone cement technologies. Injectable bone cements (IBCs) are widely used in orthopaedic and craniofacial applications due to their minimally invasive delivery and ability to provide early mechanical stabilisation.

Scaling Up of a Lightweight Aggregates System Based on Recovery Raw Materials and With Fertilisation Capacity: From Laboratory Prototype to Semi‐Industrial Production

open access: yesApplied Research, Volume 5, Issue 4, August 2026.
Improved glass meltability enabled semi‐industrial prototyping of a residue‐derived PK fertiliser. Firing produced mechanically stable micropellets and induced partial vitrification, pore‐network reorganisation, delayed P release, but restricted K availability; 6‐month field trials on turfgrass and Photinia supported agronomic feasibility.

Essential Oil Oleogels—Part II: Oleogels Containing Vanilla (Vanilla planifolia) Essential Oil

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Lipid Science and Technology, Volume 128, Issue 8, August 2026.
Vanilla essential oil‐containing oleogels reduced oil leakage while forming a weak gel‐like structure that partially stabilized liquid oils. The oleogels exhibited a soft, cohesive network suitable for semisolid food applications such as spreads and fillings.

Upper Urinary Tract Stone Disease: Practical Guidance for Early Assessment and Management

open access: yesTrends in Urology &Men's Health, Volume 17, Issue 4, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Upper urinary tract stone disease is a common urological condition with high recurrence rates and a significant healthcare burden. Many patients initially present in community or primary care settings, where early assessment and triage influence patient safety, referral timing and subsequent urological management.
