FEBS Letters, EarlyView.The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

FEBS Letters, EarlyView.This study challenges the idea that Sit4‐associated protein subunit 3 (SAPS3) inhibits the energy‐sensing enzyme AMP‐activated protein kinase (AMPK) in muscle and liver tissue. Although SAPS3 interacts with AMPK in cultured cells, we found no such interaction in human or mouse tissues subjected to fasting, exercise, or a high‐fat diet.
