Effects of Censored Variables on Family Studies
Behavior Genetics, 1997In the present paper effects of censored variables on estimates of genetic and environmental influences were studied. Analytic results showed with 50% censoring, about 15-20% of the variance may be attributed to the wrong source and that this amount increases rapidly with more than 70% censoring.

Studying Relations Between Variables
2001Univariate statistical methods cover applications in which there is a single response variable and any connections between the response variable and explanatory variables is through a mathematical rather than a probabilistic relation. This covers linear models and generalized linear models. The statistical task in univariate statistical applications is

Variability and Genetic Studies
1973The science of cytogenetics is concerned with the mechanisms of heredity and variability at the cellular level. The chromosomal numbers in different species, chromosomal polymorphism and the behaviour of chromosomes during the process of replication are studied because of the importance for taxonomy and evolution.

Variable stars are a field where the contribution of amateur astronomers is of great importance. This contribution can be separated in to complementary parts: 1) collaboration with professional institutes that well-equipped amateurs can easily undertake in the field of photoelectric observation; 2) visual observation of variable ...
