Potential Early Risk Biomarkers for Reduced Forced Expiratory Volume in Children Post‐Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We sought to identify potential early risk biomarkers for lung disease in children post‐allogeneic HCT. Patients with pulmonary function tests 3 months post‐transplant and plasma samples between days 7 and 14 post‐HCT were included. Six of 27 subjects enrolled had reduced forced expiratory volume 1 (FEV1) z scores.

Multiwavelength study of RX J2015.6+3711: a magnetic cataclysmic variable with a 2-hr spin period [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The X-ray source RX J2015.6+3711 was discovered by ROSAT in 1996 and recently proposed to be a cataclysmic variable (CV). Here we report on an XMM-Newton observation of RX J2015.6+3711 performed in 2014, where we detected a coherent X-ray modulation at a

Analytic Variability in Immunohistochemistry Biomarker Studies [PDF]

open access: yesCancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, 2010
Abstract Background: Despite the widespread use of immunohistochemistry (IHC), there are no standardization guidelines that control for antibody probe variability. Here we describe the effect of variable antibody reagents in the assessment of cancer-related biomarkers by IHC.

Psychosocial Outcomes in Patients With Endocrine Tumor Syndromes: A Systematic Review

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction The combination of disease manifestations, the familial burden, and varying penetrance of endocrine tumor syndromes (ETSs) is unique. This review aimed to portray and summarize available data on psychosocial outcomes in patients with ETSs and explore gaps and opportunities for future research and care.

Bell violation for unknown continuous-variable states

open access: yes, 2014
We describe a new Bell test for two-particle entangled systems that engages an unbounded continuous variable. The continuous variable state is allowed to be arbitrary and inaccessible to direct measurements.

Estimation of finite population variance using auxiliary information in sample surveys

open access: yesStatistica, 2014
This paper addresses the problem of estimating the finite population variance using auxiliary information in sample surveys. Motivated by (Singh and Vishwakarma, 2009) some estimators of finite population variance have been suggested along with their ...
