Spruce regeneration on woody microsites in a subalpine forest in the western Carpathians
The density of [L.] Karst. regeneration on different microsites, the quantity and quality of woody microsites, and seedling occurrence probability on stumps and fallen deadwood were studied in a subalpine forest that has been under protection for ...

Establishing Atomic Coherence in Twisted Oxide Membranes Containing Volatile Elements
Twisted oxide membranes containing volatile elements often suffer from amorphous interfacial dead layers that suppress coupling. An oxygen‐annealing strategy establishes atomically coherent and chemically bonded interfaces in twisted NaNbO3 membranes, enabling coherent oxide moiré architectures in volatile‐element‐containing systems.

WS2 Micro‐Dome Single Photon Source in a Tunable Open Cavity
In this work, a single‐photon source based on WS2 micro‐domes is realized and integrated into an open, tunable optical microcavity. Single‐photon emission from the coupled emitter–cavity system is observed. Detailed analysis shows that a pronounced acoustic phonon emission sideband contributes specifically to the non‐resonant emitter–cavity coupling in

Edible robotics is an emerging field that leverages edible materials to construct robotic systems. This study presents a method to create thin, lightweight, yet powerful edible soft actuators, namely edible pouch motors. The successful operation of these edible actuators and grippers renders their potential to advance future developments in edible ...

This work presents the MicroRoboScope, a highly integrated, compact, and portable microrobotic experimentation platform combining electromagnetic and acoustic actuation with real‐time visual feedback into a single, end‐to‐end device. The system enables closed‐loop control and tracking algorithm experimentation within an accessible and unified hardware ...

Will stumps from forest thinning and other standing deadwood provide habitat for saproxylic beetles if felling stumps on clearcuts are harvested? [PDF]
Increased level of stump harvest on clearcuts is expected due to growing demand for bioenergy. For saproxylic species, this will reduce habitat supply.
