High Resolution Seismic Waveform Generation Using Denoising Diffusion

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Machine Learning and Computation, Volume 2, Issue 4, December 2025.
Abstract Accurate prediction and synthesis of seismic waveforms are crucial for seismic‐hazard assessment and earthquake‐resistant infrastructure design. Existing prediction methods, such as ground‐motion models and physics‐based wavefield simulations, often fail to capture the full complexity of seismic wavefields, particularly at higher frequencies ...

Resolution and Error Constraints of Topographic Measurements for Accurate Lava Flow Forecasting

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 21, 16 November 2025.
Abstract The main parameters required to forecast lava flows are the eruption effusion rate, the lava viscosity, and the pre‐eruption topography. We focus on how the spatiotemporal resolution and vertical errors of topographic measurements affect lava flow forecasts.

Robust multi‐coil MRI reconstruction via self‐supervised denoising

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 94, Issue 5, Page 1859-1877, November 2025.
Abstract Purpose To examine the effect of incorporating self‐supervised denoising as a pre‐processing step for training deep learning (DL) based reconstruction methods on data corrupted by Gaussian noise. K‐space data employed for training are typically multi‐coil and inherently noisy.

Insight into Mo2C Nanoplates Growth by Means of Scanning Electrochemical Cell Microscopy for High‐Resolution Electrocatalytic Hydrogen Evolution Activity Mapping

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 5, Issue 10, October 2025.
High‐resolution scanning electrochemical cell microscopy reveals a size‐activity relationship in hexagonal α‐Mo2C nanoplates for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER). Smaller nanoplates (<10 μm) show superior catalytic activity due to minimal native oxide species formation, low presence of step‐edges, and residual material.

Mapping Spatiotemporal Variations of Near‐Surface Seismic Velocity to Monitor Groundwater in Central Oklahoma

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 17, 16 September 2025.
Abstract Global climate changes have intensified drought events, necessitating accurate groundwater monitoring. Traditional methods often lack the spatial and temporal resolution to track groundwater variations. This study calculates instantaneous travel‐time shifts, dt(t) $dt(t)$, from ambient noise cross‐correlation functions in central Oklahoma and ...

Extracting epilepsy‐related information from unstructured clinic letters using large language models

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 66, Issue 9, Page 3369-3384, September 2025.
Abstract Objective The emergence of large language models (LLMs) and the increasing prevalence of electronic health records (EHRs) present significant opportunities for advancing health care research and practice. However, research that compares and applies LLMs to extract key epilepsy‐related information from unstructured medical free text is under ...

Controls of Gouge Heterogeneity on Cyclic Reactivation of Fault‐Valve Systems

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 14, 28 July 2025.
Abstract Fault zones are inherently heterogeneous and exert significant impacts on fluid injection‐induced activities. We conducted Low‐velocity shear experiments on homogeneous (HM) and layered (LM) clay‐quartz mixtures representing gouge heterogeneity under double direct‐shear and constant fluid injection. Cyclic fault‐valve is activated in LM faults

Stochastic Differential Equation Approach as Uncertainty‐Aware Feature Recalibration Module in Image Classification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, Volume 35, Issue 4, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Despite significant advancements in image classification, deep learning models struggle to accurately discern fine details in images, producing overly confident and imbalanced predictions for certain classes. These models typically employ feature recalibration techniques but do not account for the underlying uncertainty in predictions ...
