Extracting epilepsy‐related information from unstructured clinic letters using large language models

open access: yesEpilepsia, Volume 66, Issue 9, Page 3369-3384, September 2025.
Abstract Objective The emergence of large language models (LLMs) and the increasing prevalence of electronic health records (EHRs) present significant opportunities for advancing health care research and practice. However, research that compares and applies LLMs to extract key epilepsy‐related information from unstructured medical free text is under ...

Controls of Gouge Heterogeneity on Cyclic Reactivation of Fault‐Valve Systems

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 14, 28 July 2025.
Abstract Fault zones are inherently heterogeneous and exert significant impacts on fluid injection‐induced activities. We conducted Low‐velocity shear experiments on homogeneous (HM) and layered (LM) clay‐quartz mixtures representing gouge heterogeneity under double direct‐shear and constant fluid injection. Cyclic fault‐valve is activated in LM faults

Stochastic Differential Equation Approach as Uncertainty‐Aware Feature Recalibration Module in Image Classification

open access: yesInternational Journal of Imaging Systems and Technology, Volume 35, Issue 4, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Despite significant advancements in image classification, deep learning models struggle to accurately discern fine details in images, producing overly confident and imbalanced predictions for certain classes. These models typically employ feature recalibration techniques but do not account for the underlying uncertainty in predictions ...

Morphoevolutive drivers on a rapidly‐evolving soft rocky cliff and connected shore platform system

open access: yesEarth Surface Processes and Landforms, Volume 50, Issue 8, 30 June 2025.
A multi‐source approach combining UAV surveys, optical satellite images and meteo‐marine data identifies key morphoevolutive drivers on a soft rocky cliff system. Results highlight the role of lithology and structure as primary controls, with marine and rainfall forcing acting as preparatory agents in a rapidly evolving coastal landscape.

How Cratonic Roots Survive With Weak Mid‐Lithosphere Discontinuities

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 52, Issue 6, 28 March 2025.
Abstract The stability of cratons has long been attributed to their neutral buoyancy and strong roots. However, recent seismic studies have revealed widespread mid‐lithospheric discontinuities (MLDs) within cratonic roots. Previous studies, based on geophysical and xenolith evidence, mainly suggest that MLDs are formed through metamorphic processes and

Reducing Wind Energy Forecast Error With a Hybrid Ensemble Prediction Method

open access: yesWind Energy, Volume 28, Issue 3, March 2025.
ABSTRACT When wind energy is traded in ex‐ante time frames for Day‐Ahead electricity markets, accurate wind forecasts are needed to secure positions up to 36 h after the market gate closes to bidders. Wind energy is traded in discrete quantities; however, it is generated from an intermittent and variable resource.
