Bradyrhizobium stylosanthis sp. nov., comprising nitrogen-fixing symbionts isolated from nodules of the tropical forage legume Stylosanthes spp.

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology, 2016
The introduction of legumes and nitrogen-fixing bacteria in tropical areas under pasture is a key factor for improvement of soil fertility. However, there are still very few studies concerning the symbionts of tropical forage legumes. We performed a polyphasic study with three strains representing the genus Bradyrhizobium (BR 446T, BR 510 and BR 511 ...

ALGUNOS ASPECTOS SOBRE LA BIOLOGIA Y POSIBILIDADES DE CONTROL BIOLOGICO DE Caloptilia sp. BARRENADOR DEL Stylosanthes spp

Fusarium wilt incidence and common bean yield according to the preceding crop and the soil tillage system

open access: yesPesquisa Agropecuária Brasileira, 2012
The objective of this work was to evaluate the effects of preceding crops and tillage systems on the incidence of Fusarium wilt (Fusarium oxysporum f. sp. phaseoli) and common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) yield. The cultivar BRS Valente was cultivated under

DESARROLLO DE UNA DIETA ARTIFICIAL PARA CRIA DE Caloptilia sp. Y EFECTO DE ECOTIPOS RESISTENTES Y SUSCEPTIBLES DE Stylosanthes SOBRE LA BIOLOGIA DEL INSECTO

Poultry performance in different grazing densities: forage characteristics, losses due to grazing and feed intake

open access: yesSemina: Ciências Agrárias, 2014
Morphological characteristics of three forage species grazed by rustic poultry in stocking were evaluated. Coast-cross fodder, kikuyu grass, and stylosanthes were planted in 33-m2 paddocks with two densities (m2/animal): D1 = 3m2/animal and D2 = 1m2 ...

Pest categorisation of the non‐EU phytoplasmas of tuber‐forming Solanum spp.

open access: yesEFSA Journal, Volume 18, Issue 12, December 2020., 2020
Abstract Following a request from the European Commission, the EFSA Panel on Plant Health performed a pest categorisation of four phytoplasmas of tuber‐forming Solanum spp. known to occur only outside the EU or having a limited presence in the EU. The only tuber‐forming species of Solanum reported to be phytoplasma infected is S. tuberosum.

Mapping the drivers of parasitic weed abundance at a national scale: a new approach applied to Striga asiatica in the mid‐west of Madagascar

open access: yesWeed Research, Volume 60, Issue 5, Page 323-333, October 2020., 2020
Abstract The parasitic weed genus Striga causes huge losses to crop production in sub‐Saharan Africa, estimated to be in excess of $7 billion per year. There is a paucity of reliable distribution data for Striga; however, such data are urgently needed to understand current drivers, better target control efforts, as well as to predict future risks.

Type 3 Secretion System (T3SS) of Bradyrhizobium sp. DOA9 and Its Roles in Legume Symbiosis and Rice Endophytic Association

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
The Bradyrhizobium sp. DOA9 strain isolated from a paddy field has the ability to nodulate a wide spectrum of legumes. Unlike other bradyrhizobia, this strain has a symbiotic plasmid harboring nod, nif, and type 3 secretion system (T3SS) genes. This T3SS
