Palladium‐Catalyzed Atroposelective Suzuki–Miyaura Coupling to Construct Axially Chiral Tetra‐Substituted α‐Boryl Styrenes

open access: yesAdvanced Science
Palladium‐catalyzed Suzuki–Miyaura (SM) coupling is a valuable method for forming C─C bonds, including those between aryl moieties. However, achieving atroposelective synthesis of axially chiral styrenes via SM coupling remains challenging. In this study,

Direct Use of Carboxylic Acids in the Photocatalytic Hydroacylation of Styrenes To Generate Dialkyl Ketones.

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2019
A general protocol for the hydroacylation of styrenes from aliphatic carboxylic acids is reported. These reactions proceed via β-scission of a phosphoranyl radical that is accessed by photoredox catalysis, followed by addition of the resulting acyl ...

Regio- and Stereoselective Ruthenium Catalyzed Hydrovinylation of 1,3-Dienes: Application to the Generation of a 20S-Steroidal Sidechain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
The addition of ethylene to 1,3-dienes and 1-vinylcycloalkenes, catalyzed by two ruthenium complexes, proceeds in a regioselective fashion to afford 3-methyl-1,4-dienes as products. For a steroidal-based 1-vinylcycloalkene, the addition is stereospecific,

Common Signatures of Altered Gene Regulation and Invasiveness of Different Breast Cancer Cell Lines after Matrix Interface Crossing

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Interface transmigration reprograms triple‐negative breast cancer cells, triggering a shared switch toward more aggressive and invasive phenotypes. Using a collagen I interface model, this study identifies shared transcriptional changes involving proliferation, chromatin remodeling, and DNA repair pathways.

Hypervalent iodine compounds for anti-Markovnikov-type iodo-oxyimidation of vinylarenes

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2018
The iodo-oxyimidation of styrenes with the N-hydroxyimide/I2/hypervalent iodine oxidant system was proposed. Among the examined hypervalent iodine oxidants (PIDA, PIFA, IBX, DMP) PhI(OAc)2 proved to be the most effective; yields of iodo-oxyimides are 34 ...

Oxygen Supply of Islets of Langerhans by Photosynthetically Active Microalgae in Bioprinted Co‐Cultures Maintains Their Function in a Hypoxic Environment

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
This study developed a bioprinted co‐culture system embedding rat pancreatic islets and Scenedesmus sp. microalgae spatially defined in close vicinity. Red light was found optimal to ensure microalgal photosynthesis while maintaining islet viability and functionality. A tailored co‐culture medium supported both cell types.

Proton-Coupled Electron Transfer Enables Tandem Radical Relay for Asymmetric Copper-Catalyzed Phosphinoylcyanation of Styrenes.

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2019
A tandem radical relay strategy was realized for the first Cu(I)-catalyzed enantioselective phosphinocyanation of styrenes. In this reaction, tBuOOSiMe3 generated in situ from tBuOOH serves as a radical initiator to trigger t-butoxy radical production ...

Bacteria‐Responsive Nanostructured Drug Delivery Systems for Targeted Antimicrobial Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Bacteria‐responsive nanocarriers are designed to release antimicrobials only in the presence of infection‐specific cues. This selective activation ensures drug release precisely at the site of infection, avoiding premature or indiscriminate release, and enhancing efficacy.
