A Simple Nickel Catalyst Enabling an E‐Selective Alkyne Semihydrogenation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Stereoselective alkyne semihydrogenations are attractive approaches to alkenes, which are key building blocks for synthesis. With regards to the most atom economic reducing agent dihydrogen (H 2 ), only few catalysts for the challenging E ‐selective ...

Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Crystal Growth: A General Framework for Anisotropic Crystal Growth in Cu‐Based Perovskites

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Complexation‐Mediated Diffusion‐Limited Growth (CMDLG) framework is established to rationalize the anisotropic growth of lead‐free perovskites. Integrating coordination chemistry with mass transport kinetics, this study theoretically derives and experimentally validates that stable iodocuprate complexes induce a diffusion‐limited regime.

Artifact‐Minimizing Ultrathin Transparent Electrodes Fabricated via iCVD for In Vivo Optogenetic Stimulation and Neural Signal Monitoring of Primary Visual Cortex

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We present ultrathin flexible transparent electrodes through iCVD‐enabled molecular control of 10 nm gold films on poly(dimethylaminomethylstyrene). In vivo validation demonstrated photoelectric artifact reduction vs. opaque electrodes and preservation of natural neural dynamics.

Robust Polymer Hydrogels Improve Electric‐Fish‐Inspired Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Electric‐fish‐inspired hydrogel batteries based on ion‐concentration gradients offer an attractive route to soft power sources; however, the poor mechanical properties of existing hydrogels limit device assembly and performance. Here, we report poly(ethylene glycol) methyl ether acrylate hydrogels that enable ion‐gradient batteries composed of

Invention and Development of a Novel Catalytic Process for the Production of a Benzenesulfonic Acid-Building Block

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1997
Development of a highly 'atom-efficient' production process for 2-alkyl-substituted benzenesulfonic acids by arylation of olefins with 2-diazoniobenzenesulfonate catalyzed by a homogeneous Pd-complex and subsequent hydrogenation of the resulting

Assembly of Cell‐Seeded 3D Printed Hydrogel Modules with Perfusable Channel Networks

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Macroscale assembly was utilized to prepare perfusable tissue constructs from individually 3D printed hydrogel modules with embedded branched channel networks and port arrays for cell seeding. Novel multi‐material bioreactors were fabricated to facilitate the gluing of individual modules and the perfusion culture of assembled modular constructs seeded ...

Additions of Aldehyde-Derived Radicals and Nucleophilic N-Alkylindoles to Styrenes by Photoredox Catalysis

open access: yesOrganic Letters, 2020
The consecutive addition of acyl radicals and N-alkylindole nucleophiles to styrenes was established, as well as some additional radical–nucleophile combinations. Both aryl and aliphatic aldehydes give reasonable yields.
