Single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) has been employed to detect Parkinson’s disease (PD). However, analysis of the SPECT PD images was mostly based on the region of interest (ROI) approach. Due to limited size of the ROI, especially in the

The shear wave velocity Vs is one of the most basic parameters for characterizing the dynamic behaviours of soils, and it is also an index for assessing the seismic liquefaction resistance of sand-gravel soils. To explore the influences of gravel content

Coannihilation Scenarios and Particle Spectroscopy in SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R
We identify a variety of coannihilation scenarios in a supersymmetric SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model with discrete left-right symmetry. Non-universal gaugino masses, compatible with the gauge symmetry, play an essential role in realizing gluino and ...

Utility of su(1,1)-Algebra in a Schematic Nuclear su(2)-Model [PDF]
The su(2)-algebraic model interacting with an environment is investigated from a viewpoint of treating the dissipative system. By using the time-dependent variational approach with a coherent state and with the help of the canonicity condition, the time ...

An imbalance in blood collection and demand is anticipated to occur in the near future in Taiwan
Due to excessive clinical blood usage and a rapidly aging population, an impending blood shortage in Taiwan is inevitable. This study aimed to determine the potential blood deficit in Taiwan in 2030.

SU(4)_c x SU(2)_L x SU(2)_R model from 5D SUSY SU(4)_c x SU(4)_{L+R}
We investigate supersymmetric $SU(4)_c\times SU(4)_{L+R}$ theory in 5 dimensions whose compactification on a $S^{(1)}/Z_2$ orbifold yields N=1 supersymmetric $SU(4)_c\times SU(2)_L\times SU(2)_R$ supplemented by a $\tl{U}(1)$ gauge symmetry.

Comparing improved actions for SU(2) [PDF]
In order to help the user in choosing the right action a performance comparison is done for seven improved actions. Six of them are Symanzik improved, one at tree-level and two at one-loop, all with or without tadpole improvement.

A Comparative Analysis of a Nonlinear Phase Space Evolution of SU(2) and SU(1,1) Coherent States
We carried out a comparative study of the phase space evolution of SU(2) and SU(1,1) coherent states generated by the same nonlinear two-mode Hamiltonian.

Asymptotically free SU(2) × SU(2) × SU(4) model of unified interaction [PDF]
Abstract An asymptotically free SU(2) × SU(2) × SU(4) model of unified interaction is constructed. The gauge coupling constants are taken equal (in the order of magnitude) to the electromagnetic one. The strong interaction and the quark confinement is provided for by a gluonic mechanism. Some physical consequence of the model are briefly discussed.

Seepage-stress-cracking analysis of concrete lining under high internal pressure
Internal water leakage induced by concrete lining cracking under high internal pressure is a frequent challenge in the operation of pressure tunnels.
