Acute and sub-chronic toxicity studies of honokiol microemulsion

Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2015
The purpose of this study was to investigate the acute and sub-chronic toxicity of honokiol microemulsion. In the acute toxicity tests, the mice were intravenously injected graded doses of honokiol microemulsion and were observed for toxic symptoms and mortality daily for 14 days.

The LD50and Chronic Toxicity of Reactor Terphenyls

Archives of Environmental Health: An International Journal, 1973
Acute ingestion of reactor coolant terphenyls (HB-40) revealed LD50 values of 17,500 mg/kg rat and 12,500 mg/kg mouse for nonirradiated coolant and 6,000 mg/kg mouse or rat for irradiated coolant. Chronic ingestion of the mixtures by mice produced mitochondrial changes in epithelial cells of proximal tubules, and at high doses these cells became ...

The sub-chronic toxicity of regular White Spirit in rats

Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2014
Hydrocarbon solvents are mostly complex substances (UVCB) with carbon numbers in the range of approximately C5-C20. One of the most common types is a C9-C14 aliphatic solvent containing approximately 20% aromatics and commonly known as White Spirit in Europe and mineral spirits in the US.

Sub-chronic toxicity of Gyejibokryeong-hwan in Sprague-Dawley rats

Journal of Ethnopharmacology, 2018
Traditional herbal formula Gyejibokryeong-hwan (GJBRH; Guizhifuling-wan, Keishibukuryo-gan) consisting five medicinal herbs has been used to treat uterine disorders, gynecological diseases and blood stasis syndrome in Asia.We evaluated the safety of GJBRH in Crl:CD Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats over a period of 13 weeks. To confirm the stability of the ...

Sub-acute and sub-chronic toxicity ofmono-2-ethylhexyl phthalate in the rat

Archives of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 1981
Groups of six male Sprague-Dawley rats were administered single oral doses of mono-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (MEHP) at 50, 100 or 200 mg/kg or di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) at 2,000 mg/kg in 2% gum acacia and were observed clinically for seven days. Body weight and food consumption were not affected by treatment.

Sub-chronic oral toxicity of acetamiprid in Wistar rats

Toxicological & Environmental Chemistry, 2015
Acetamiprid is a neoncotinoid insecticide that acts as an agonist to the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor used as insecticide in crops and to control fleas on dogs and cats. The objectives of this study are (1) to evaluate the sub-chronic toxicity of orally administered acetamiprid, (2) to estimate the tissue residue levels and (3) to assess the ...

The sub-chronic toxicity of a naphthenic hydrocarbon solvent in rats

Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2018
Cycloalkanes/naphthenes are constituents of complex hydrocarbon solvents, and hence an understanding of their toxicological profile is critical to establish safe limits for occupational exposures to these solvents. Although naphthenes are structurally related to and share a common metabolic fate with the straight and branched chain analogues, some ...

Sub-Chronic Toxicity of Senilia senilis Hepatopancreas in Albino Wistar Mice

Bulletin of Environmental Contamination and Toxicology, 2010
This study investigates the sub-chronic effects of shellfish possibly contaminated by algal toxins in albino Wistar mice. Following in-feed treatment with hepatopancreas, there were significant (p < 0.05) differences in packed cell volume, haemoglobin concentration, red blood cell count, lymphocyte count and alanine aminotransferase between the ...

Acute and sub-chronic toxicity study of diaveridine in Wistar rats

Regulatory Toxicology and Pharmacology, 2015
Diaveridine, a developed dihydrofolate reductase inhibitor, has been widely used as anticoccidial drug and antibacterial synergist. However, few studies have been performed to investigate its toxicity. To provide detailed toxicity with a wide spectrum of doses for diaveridine, acute and sub-chronic toxicity studies were conducted.
