Inter‐Individual Differences in T1, T2, and Proton Density Using Quantitative Synthetic Imaging for 1H‐MRS Quantification

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose Metabolite concentrations can be determined from proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H‐MRS) data using water as an internal reference. This calculation requires tissue‐specific water T1 and T2 relaxation constants and proton density (PD).

SUBARACHNOID HAEMORRHAGE

open access: yesGomal Journal of Medical Sciences, 2015
Subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) denotes the presence of blood within the subarachnoid space. The sensitivity of CT scan to the presence of SAH is strongly influenced by both the amount of blood and the time since haemorrhage.

Ununsual manifestations of neurocysticercosis in MR imaging: analysis of 172 cases Manifestações incomuns na ressonância magnética da neurocisticercose: análise de 172 casos

open access: yesArquivos de Neuro-Psiquiatria, 2003
PURPOSE: The typical manifestations of neurocysticercosis are described widely in the literature. The purpose of this study is to demonstrate the uncommon presentations of different forms of neurocysticercosis in MR imaging.

Meflin/ISLR is a meningeal cell‐specific marker involved in the development of meninges and meningioma progression

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
Mesenchymal stromal cell‐and fibroblast‐expressing Linx paralogue (Meflin) is expressed in embryonic meninges and contributes to meningeal homeostasis. In meningiomas, elevated Meflin correlates with higher grade and recurrence. Single‐cell RNA sequencing revealed a Meflin‐high tumor cell subset marked by reduced proliferation, WNT6 expression, and ...

Intracranial Rupture of an Intradiploic Dermoid Cyst Resembling an Erupting Volcano: A Case Report

open access: yesJournal of the Korean Society of Radiology
Dermoid cysts originate from embryonic tissues trapped in the cranial fusion lines and typically manifest extra-axially. However, intradiploic dermoid cysts are rare among cranial tumors, and their rupture has been sparsely documented.

Vascularised Brain Organoids: Engineering Strategies and Neurobiological Applications

open access: yesCell Proliferation, EarlyView.
This review highlights emerging strategies to engineer vascularized brain organoids—including endothelial co‐culture, genetic induction, perfusion systems, and in vivo transplantation—and their applications in modelling neurovascular diseases, evaluating BBB drug delivery, and advancing regenerative medicine.

Cone beam computed tomographic myelography in horses with cervical vertebral compressive myelopathy

open access: yesEquine Veterinary Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Background While computed tomographic (CT) myelography is increasingly available and has been evaluated in alive horses, objective criteria for diagnosing cervical vertebral compressive myelopathy (CVCM) are lacking. Objectives To establish morphometric dimensions of the cervical vertebral canal and spinal cords from horses with CVCM and ...

Exploring Theory of Mind abilities in patients with probable idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, EarlyView.
Abstract This study investigated Theory of Mind (ToM) deficits in patients with suspected idiopathic normal pressure hydrocephalus (iNPH), a condition affecting motor, cognitive and autonomic functions. Given the overlap between ToM‐related neural networks and those affected in iNPH, we examined whether ToM impairments are a feature of the disease ...

Anatomy of spinal CSF loss in the American alligator (Alligator mississippiensis)

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, Volume 246, Issue 4, Page 575-584, April 2025.
India ink introduced into the cranial cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) compartment of Alligator diffuses along the spinal cord and exits the spinal compartment using perineural flow, resulting in a prominent “ink cuff” forming at the base of the spinal nerve. In Alligator, the region of the ink cuff is drained by a small lymphatic vessel.
