A CSF Background Suppression Scheme in Arterial Spin Labeling MRI

open access: yesNMR in Biomedicine, Volume 39, Issue 1, January 2026.
Arterial spin labeling MRI suffers from signal instability due to CSF pulsation, which are not fully addressed by conventional tissue‐focused background suppression (BS). We developed a CSF BS scheme and demonstrated its advantages in both single‐ and multi‐delay ASL.

Hedgehogs and Angiostrongylus cantonensis: Uncovering the Role of Atelerix albiventris in the Parasite Life Cycle

open access: yesIntegrative Zoology, Volume 21, Issue 1, Page 104-115, January 2026.
ABSTRACT The ongoing invasion of the zoonotic parasite Angiostrongylus cantonensis threatens humans, other mammals, and birds. In Mallorca, neurological disorders associated with this parasite are increasingly reported in free‐living Algerian hedgehogs, Atelerix algirus, raising public health concerns.

Severe Hyponatremia in the Emergency Department Incidence of Cerebral Edema and Risk of Osmotic Demyelination Syndrome

open access: yesAcademic Emergency Medicine, Volume 33, Issue 1, January 2026.
ABSTRACT Study Objective Treatment strategies in severe hyponatremia aim at rapid sodium correction to prevent or treat cerebral edema but limit sodium rise to prevent osmotic demyelination syndrome (ODS). The true risk of edema or ODS in ED patients is unknown.
