Film boiling of subcooled liquids. Part II: Steady regimes of subcooled liquids film boiling

International Journal of Heat and Mass Transfer, 2016
Abstract As it was shown in the first part of the present study [1], during film boiling of highly subcooled water the particular regime of boiling occurred revealed first in the works [2,3], where the term “micro-bubble boiling” was introduced for this regime.

Highly Subcooled Boiling in Crossflow

Journal of Heat Transfer, 2001
Experiments were carried out to determine the influence of fluid flow and liquid subcooling on flow boiling heat transfer of Freon-113 across horizontal tubes. The data cover wide ranges of velocity (1.5 to 6.9 m/s) and extremely high levels of liquid subcooling (29 to 100°C) at pressures ranging from 122 to 509 kPa.

Multizone Condensers: Desuperheating, Condensing, Subcooling

Heat Transfer Engineering, 1981
This article examines the design of multizone condensers. It also marks the first published discussion of the existence of a “wet desuperheating zon” in every multizone condenser with a “dry desuperheating zone. ’Considered in this discussion are only single component vapors in shell-and-tube heat exchangers with single shell-side ...

Hydrogen Subcooling for Aerospace Vehicles

IEEE Transactions on Aerospace, 1963
This paper discusses the ground handling system for hydrogen, subcooled to the liquid-solid state. The various phases of ground handling such as production, storage, transfer and servicing are explained. The problems to be experienced in each phase of the handling system are discussed.

Critical Heat Flux in Subcooled Flow Boiling

Proceeding of International Heat Transfer Conference 11, 1998
This chapter reports a survey of recent experimental work performed to obtain parametric trends of critical heat flux (CHF) in water-subcooled flow boiling, with special concern for high liquid velocity and subcooling, small-diameter channels, and low-intermediate pressure, together with a review of current modeling analysis.

HEAT TRANSFER DURING SUBCOOLED BOILING

1963
Abstract : (1) Average heat transfer coefficients on a uniformly heated cylinder. Experimental data were presented for a Reynolds number range from 40 to 100,000 and for Prandtl numbers from 1 to 300. The effects of temperature differences large enough to produce significant changes in viscosity across the boundary layer were correlated in terms of a ...
