The GGH/HuR Complex Binds and Stabilizes mRNAs to Maintain Tumor Cell Cycle and DNA Replication

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Despite its canonical role in inhibiting DNA synthesis, GGH promotes tumor growth as a novel RNA‐binding protein. GGH binds GC‐rich 5′UTRs (e.g., CDC6/CCND1), recruits HuR to form a ternary complex that stabilizes mRNA via circular conformation, fueling DNA replication and the cell cycle. Targeting this axis suppresses NSCLC progression.

Citrullination of AKT2 Catalyzed by PAD1 Facilitates the Maintenance of Stemness Characteristics of Ovarian Cancer Stem‐Like Cells in Ovarian Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PAD1 is upregulated within the CD133+ subset or cisplatin‐resistant ovarian cancer cells, which is positively associated with the upregulation of stemness‐related markers and maintenance of stemness in OCSLCs. Mechanistically, PAD1‐catalyzed AKT2 citrullination at R202 facilitates AKT2 phosphorylation, promoting CEBPβ expression and its binding to the ...

Mesencephalic Astrocyte‐Derived Neurotrophic Factor Binds BAX to Preserve Mitochondrial Homeostasis and Energy Metabolism for Relieving Myocardial Hypertrophy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
MANF in cardiomyocytes interacts with BAX to impede BAX mitochondrial translocation and cytochrome c release, further stabilizing mitochondrial structure and energy supply to relieve myocardial apoptosis and hypertrophy, which indicates MANF as a novel cardioprotective factor to have a promising clinical application for myocardial hypertrophy ...

Deacetylation of ACLY Mediates RNA M6A‐Modification of NOXA and Promotes Chemoresistance of Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study investigates the deacetylation of ACLY at K978 acts as a novel risk in colorectal cancer chemoresistance. The deacetylation of K978 induces ACLY relocation to the nucleus and promotes its binding to RBM15, a m6A methylation modification “writer”.

Diet-Induced Abdominal Obesity, Metabolic Changes, and Atherosclerosis in Hypercholesterolemic Minipigs

open access: yesJournal of Diabetes Research, 2018
Background. Obesity and metabolic syndrome (MetS) are major risk factors for atherosclerotic diseases; however, a causal link remains elusive. Animal models resembling human MetS and its complications, while important, are scarce.

Optimising The Response To Supplementary Concentrates By Beef Cattle In Winter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2008
End of project reportConcentrates are a major component of feed costs in winter finishing of beef cattle. Two separate experiments were carried out to evaluate the response to increasing supplementary concentrate level with grass silage and the effects ...

Strategic Design of Aptamer‐Guided Aggregation‐Induced Emission Nanoparticles for Targeted Photodynamic Therapy in Breast Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study presents MF3Ec‐TBPP nanoparticles for targeted photodynamic therapy of Luminal A breast cancer. These nanoparticles combine an AIE‐based photosensitizer with an aptamer. Tests show they effectively inhibit tumor growth while protecting healthy tissue via aggregation and dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine, indicating potential for improved ...
