Insulin-induced lipohypertrophy: clinical and ultrasound characteristics

open access: yesСахарный диабет, 2018
Background: Lipohypertrophy is primary dermal complication of insulin therapy. The data on the prevalence of lipohypertrophy in diabetic subjects are inconsistent, that may be due to the lack of sensitivity and subjectivity of palpation as diagnostic ...

Implantation of subcutaneous heart rate data loggers in southern elephant seals (Mirounga leonina) [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Unlike most phocid species (Phocidae), Mirounga leonina (southern elephant seals) experience a catastrophic moult where they not only replace their hair but also their epidermis when ashore for approximately 1 month.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...

Angiomyxolipoma (Vascular Myxolipoma) of Subcutaneous Tissue [PDF]

open access: yesAnnals of Dermatology, 2009
Lipoma is the most common neoplasm of mesenchyme, and several subtypes have been described that vary according to their location and the presence of other tissue elements. Angiomyxolipoma is a very rare variant that consists of an admixture of adipose and myxoid elements with numerous vascular structures. It should be differentiated from other subtypes

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Ultrasound Imaging of the Superficial Fascia in the Upper Limb: Arm and Forearm

open access: yesDiagnostics, 2022
The superficial fascia has received much attention in recent years due to its important role of compartmentalizing the subcutaneous tissue. Ultrasound (US) imaging, owing to its high definition, provides the possibility of better visualizing and ...

Proteasome inhibitor, ixazomib prevents topoisomerase‐I degradation and reverses irinotecan resistance in colorectal cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Ixazomib inhibits proteasome‐mediated degradation of topoisomerase I induced by irinotecan, thereby restoring drug sensitivity and promoting tumor cell death in colorectal cancer. Irinotecan, a topoisomerase I (topoI) inhibitor, is widely used for colorectal cancer, but resistance remains a major clinical challenge.

Total nitrogen and l-hydroxyproline content of adipose tissue from various sites in rats of different ages

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1970
The total nitrogen and l-hydroxyproline concentrations of two intra-abdominal and two subcutaneous sites of adipose tissue were measured in male and female Wistar rats.At 100 g body weight the nitrogen concentration of intra-abdominal adipose tissue was ...
