Rainbow subdivisions of cliques

open access: yesRandom Structures & Algorithms, 2023
AbstractWe show that for every integer and large , every properly edge‐colored graph on vertices with at least edges contains a rainbow subdivision of . This is sharp up to a polylogarithmic factor. Our proof method exploits the connection between the mixing time of random walks and expansion in graphs.

CSF Mitochondrial DNA: Biomarker of Body Composition and Energy Metabolism in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) cell‐free mitochondrial DNA (cf‐mtDNA) is a potential biomarker for Parkinson's disease (PD), but its clinical relevance remains unclear. We investigated associations between CSF cf‐mtDNA levels, body composition, nutritional status, and metabolic biomarkers in PD. Methods CSF cf‐mtDNA levels, defined as the

Linear subdivision

open access: yesLinear Algebra and its Applications, 1991
AbstractThis paper extends the results of an earlier paper on uniform subdivision algorithms for the generation of curves. Here, curves are considered that are subdivisible at a finite set of arbitrary breakpoints as opposed to the equidistant breakpoints considered earlier. Smoothness and related properties of the curves are discussed.

Financial Distress and its Determinants in Rheumatoid Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective To quantify the degree of financial distress and identify its determinants in adults with rheumatoid arthritis (RA) given the frequent chronic use of expensive disease modifying therapies. Methods We identified adults enrolled in the FORWARD databank with either RA or non‐inflammatory musculoskeletal disease (NIMSKD) completing the Functional

The Slavonian Dialect: between Autochtony and Influence

open access: yesMigracijske i etničke teme, 2003
The paper examines the Slavonian dialect on all linguistic levels. Special attention is given to the genesis of this štokavian dialect, and to the problems of its subdivision.

Adipose Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Exosomes in Conjunction with Roflumilast Ameliorate Chronic Kidney Disease Through the Modulation of Fibrosis and Inflammation

open access: yesAdvanced Biology, EarlyView.
The novelty of this study showed that the injection of exosomes produced from ADMSCs in combination with Roflumilast poses a more favorable therapeutic outcome for CKD induced by Adriamycin, compared to therapy with exosomes or Roflumilast alone. Roflumilast and exosomes treatment lowered the expression of the apoptotic, fibrotic, and inflammatory ...

An interpolatory subdivision algorithm for surfaces over arbitrary triangulations [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
In this paper, an interpolatory subdivision algorithm for surfaces over ar-bitrary triangulations is introduced and its convergence properties over nonuni-form triangulations studied.

On Topological Minors in Random Simplicial Complexes

open access: yes, 2015
For random graphs, the containment problem considers the probability that a binomial random graph $G(n,p)$ contains a given graph as a substructure. When asking for the graph as a topological minor, i.e., for a copy of a subdivision of the given graph ...

3D‐Printed Architected Material for the Generation of Foam‐Based Protective Equipment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This study investigates 3D‐printed architected structures as alternatives to traditional foams in protective gear. It focuses on customizing impact strength and damping through design and manufacturing integration. Testing shows these structures outperform conventional foams, offering enhanced customizability, lower weight, and tunable performance ...
