Structure of intersection graphs
Let G be a finite group and let N be a fixed normal subgroup of G. In this paper, a new kind of graph on G, namely the intersection graph is defined and studied.

Subgroups of Infinite Symmetric Groups
Various questions are discussed on the subgroup structure of \(S:=Sym(\Omega)\), where \(\Omega\) is an infinite set. It is shown that S is not the union of a chain of size \(| \Omega |\) of proper subgroups, and results are obtained on the size of the smallest families of proper subgroups with set-theoretic union S.

On the lattice of pronormal subgroups of dicyclic, alternating and symmetric groups [PDF]
In this paper, the structures of collection of pronormal subgroups of dicyclic, symmetric and alternating groups $G$ are studied in respect of formation of lattices ${\rm L}(G)$ and sublattices of ${\rm L}(G)$.

Maximal Subgroups of Symmetric Groups
The purpose of this paper is to give estimates on the number of conjugacy classes of maximal subgroups of the finite symmetric groups \(S_n\), on \(n\) letters in terms of \(n\). It is shown that this number is of the form \((\frac12+o(1))n\). The main work has to be done in establishing that \(S_n\) has at most \(n^{6/11+o(1)}\) conjugacy classes of ...

Collineation group as a subgroup of the symmetric group [PDF]
AbstractLet ψ be the projectivization (i.e., the set of one-dimensional vector subspaces) of a vector space of dimension ≥ 3 over a field. Let H be a closed (in the pointwise convergence topology) subgroup of the permutation group $\mathfrak{S}_\psi $ of the set ψ.

Maximal subgroups of symmetric groups [PDF]
The cardinality of M shall be denoted by I MI. The support of s e S(M) is defined by spts={xeM:s(x)#x}. The fixed set of s=fs s={xeM:s(x)=x} = M-s spts.IfIMI = X > d,d < Y < X +,defineS(X,Y) ={scES(M): I spts |< Y}. The alternating subgroup shall be denoted A(X).

Modular orbits at higher genus
We extend the modular orbits method of constructing a two-dimensional orbifold conformal field theory to higher genus Riemann surfaces. We find that partition functions on surfaces of arbitrary genus can be constructed by a straightforward generalization

Background: Life-threatening arrhythmias resulting from genetic mutations are often missed in current electrocardiogram (ECG) analysis. We combined a new method for ECG analysis that uses all the waveform data with machine learning to improve detection ...
