Low-threshold subharmonic generation in composites structures with Cantor-like code
We show experimental evidence of extremely low thresholds for subharmonic generation of ultrasonic waves in one-dimensional artificial piezoelectric plates with Cantor-like structure, as compared to the corresponding homogeneous periodic plates.

A subharmonic vibratory pattern in normal vocal folds
This study observes in detail an F-0/2 (sounding an octave below an original tone) subharmonic vibratory pattern produced in a normal larynx. Simultaneous electroglottographic and photoglottographic measurements reveal two different open phases within a ...

Instabilities and subharmonic resonances of subsonic heated round jets, volume 2
When a jet is perturbed by a periodic excitation of suitable frequency, a large-scale coherent structure develops and grows in amplitude as it propagates downstream. The structure eventually rolls up into vortices at some downstream location.

A Numerical Method on Large Roll Motion in Beam Seas Under Intact and Damaged Conditions
The second-generation intact stability criteria, including five stability failure modes, were approved by the International Maritime Organization (IMO) in 2020, and it is an urgent task to develop the numerical method for the significant roll motion ...
