Lobe‐Specific Risk of Malignancy in Parotid Gland Lesions: A Milan System‐Based Analysis

open access: yesLaryngoscope Investigative Otolaryngology, Volume 11, Issue 1, February 2026.
ABSTRACT Purpose To evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of fine‐needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) for parotid gland lesions using the Milan System while eliminating verification bias, and to systematically compare risk of malignancy (ROM) between superficial and deep lobe lesions across all Milan categories. Methods A retrospective review was conducted of

Sialendoscopy for salivary stones: principles, technical skills and therapeutic experience [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017

Clinical Validation of α‐Synuclein in Salivary Extracellular Vesicles as a Biomarker for Parkinson's Disease: A Longitudinal Study

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Neurology, Volume 33, Issue 2, February 2026.
Salivary Extracellular vesicles (SEVs) isolated from PD patients exhibit increased levels of both total (α‐SynTot) and oligomeric alpha‐synuclein (α‐SynOlig). In PD patients, SEVS‐α‐SynOlig levels correlate with cognitive decline (MMSE) and motor fluctuations (MDS‐UPDRS IV) and remain stable after 1 year follow‐up.

Challenge Specific Modulation of Responses to Adjuvant‐Induced Innate Immune Memory

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 177, Issue 2, Page 254-269, February 2026.
We utilised a commercially available adjuvant formulation to study the induction, maintenance, and consequences of innate immune memory. Using functional assays on bone marrow‐derived innate cells, extensive transcriptomic analysis of haematopoietic progenitors, and challenge models of spirochetal infection, nonspecific inflammation, and model antigen ...

Antigen-driven clonal proliferation of B cells within the target tissue of an autoimmune disease: the salivary glands of patients with Sjögren's syndrome [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
Structures resembling germinal centers are seen in the salivary glands of patients with Sjögren's syndrome, but it is not known whether the microenvironment of these cell clusters is sufficient for the induction of a germinal center response.

Seven Cases of Immunoglobulin G4-Related Disease in Submandibular Glands

open access: yesKorean Journal of Otorhinolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery
Immunoglobulin G4-related disease (IgG4-RD) is a chronic fibroinflammatory systemic disorder. Predominantly, patients with submandibular swelling are diagnosed with this disease in otorhinolaryngology. However, due to its rarity and the limited understanding of the disease, accurate diagnosis can be challenging.

Expert Perspective: Diagnosis and Treatment of Castleman Disease

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 1, Page 12-25, January 2026.
Castleman disease (CD) is a major diagnostic challenge for rheumatologists. Unicentric CD (UCD) involves one enlarged lymph node region, whereas multicentric CD (MCD) involves multiple enlarged lymph node regions. Both UCD and MCD may exhibit a wide range of symptoms that overlap with other immune‐mediated conditions.

Epidermal Interferon‐κ Drives Cutaneous Lupus‐Like Lesions, Photosensitivity, and Systemic Autoimmunity In Vivo

open access: yesArthritis &Rheumatology, Volume 78, Issue 1, Page 184-197, January 2026.
Objective Keratinocyte‐derived interferon (IFN) κ is chronically overexpressed in human nonlesional systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) skin. Recent evidence suggests that epidermal signals instruct the immune system in SLE, but whether epidermal IFNκ alone is sufficient to drive lupus phenotypes has not been investigated.
