A quantum‐enhanced weighted gene co‐expression network analysis framework integrating quantum amplitude amplification is developed to overcome sample size constraints in zoological genomics. This noise‐tolerant analytical strategy enables robust network reconstruction for non‐model species with limited biological replicates.

The sounds of submarine volcanoes

When submarine volcanoes erupt, several processes can create sounds in the ocean, mostly at low frequencies <100 Hz. Explosions may occur directly in the water column, while earthquakes and other seismicity may produce seismic waves that convert into hydroacoustic waves or boundary (Scholte) waves.

Submarine growth and internal structure of ocean island volcanoes based on submarine observations of Mauna Loa volcano, Hawaii

A recent model for the submarine growth of Hawaiian volcanoes indicates that these volcanoes are composed mainly of fragmental lava debris formed as lavas enter the ocean. This model has major implications for locating earthquake hypocenters and for the landslide hazard potential of these and other ocean island volcanoes.
