Hexapod Locomotion Across Structured and Unstructured Terrains: A Data‐Driven Review of Modeling, Control, and Validation

open access: yesJournal of Field Robotics, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The design of a hexapod is complex and requires integration between kinematic models, control systems, and sensing. Existing literature has reviewed these sub‐systems in isolation. Since 2021, there has been no review of the field despite significant advancements in soft soil, lunar traversal, and artificial intelligence.

Tail wagging cats: Veterinary implications of AI‐generated video

open access: yesVeterinary Record, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Generative artificial intelligence (genAI) has the capacity to create realistic and convincing animal videos; however, it must simplify and reduce behavioural variation to do so, possibly leading to misinformation. Methods We categorised 29 videos in the press release for a specific video genAI engine. Twelve featured animals.

Nonthermal plasma approaches for combating implant‐associated infections: A compendious review

open access: yesVIEW, EarlyView.
Implant‐associated infections pose serious clinical challenges. Non‐thermal plasma (NTP) modifications overcome this bottleneck in distinct ways relative to traditional sterilization methods. Gas‐phase plasmas generate highly energetic species, UV radiation and reactive oxygen/nitrogen species (RONS), which alter the implant surface properties.

The Greatest Show (Birds) on Earth: Public Presentations and Their Welfare Impacts on Zoo‐Housed Birds

open access: yesZoo Biology, EarlyView.
Birds involved in bird shows were compared against non‐show birds regarding show paticipation, behaviour, body score condiiton, and feather condition. Additionally, comparisons between on and off show days as well as before and after the show were made to investigate differences in behaviour and condition. Show birds demonstrated a closer to ideal body

Challenging Business Schools Through Subversive Performativity: The Potential of Art‐based Pedagogies

open access: yesBritish Journal of Management, EarlyView.
Abstract Business schools are often criticized for reproducing growth‐oriented norms, but alternative pedagogies remain difficult to normalize. Drawing on Butler's theory of subversive performativity, this study examines how art‐based pedagogy enables academics to challenge growth logics in business schools by transforming their identities over time ...

‘Reinventing’ the Beach? Lessons from a Local Development Plan in the French Riviera

open access: yesThe Political Quarterly, EarlyView.
Abstract Coastal squeeze is now so tangible both globally and locally that the focus of scientific debate has expanded from the erosion of beaches to the risk of their disappearance. In this context, it is crucial to explore local development plans that aim to preserve the long‐term existence of a beach.

Submucosal Pressure Ejection Endoscopic Dissection (SPEED): A New Technique in Increasing the Safety and Efficacy of ESD (With Video)

open access: yesJournal of Digestive Diseases, EarlyView.
Submucosal pressure ejection endoscopic dissection (SPEED) technique combines pressure injection, incision, dissection, and coagulation, avoids frequent device exchange and ensures an easier and smoother procedure during dissection. In this study, the SPEED group showed a significantly lower application of hemostatic forceps, a shorter median resection

Effects of Calcium Hydroxide Paste and Access Cavities on Fracture Strength of Mature and Simulated Immature Human Teeth: Ex Vivo

open access: yesAustralian Endodontic Journal, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The aim was to examine whether a Ca(OH)2 paste affects fracture strength of teeth. Sixty extracted maxillary central incisors were prepared to simulate immature teeth. Another 40 were used as mature teeth. The ten groups (n = 10) were: (1) immature control; (2) immature + access; (3) immature + access + 1 m Ca(OH)2; (4) immature + access + 12 ...
