S‐Nitrosothiols as Thiol‐Protecting Groups for Controlled Thiol‐Maleimide Crosslinking of Homogeneous Soft Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Rapid thiol‐maleimide addition frequently outpaces mixing, resulting in heterogeneous hydrogels. S‐nitrosothiols act as thiol‐protecting groups, allowing uniform mixing with maleimide‐functionalized polymers before gelation. Sodium thiosulfate or sodium ascorbate then regenerates thiols on demand, triggering controlled thiol‐maleimide crosslinking ...

Coaxial Melt Electrowriting

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Coaxial melt electrowriting is established to produce dual‐property microfibers with diameters spanning 1.6–29.2 µm. Stable coaxial laminar flow is preserved under electrohydrodynamic thinning, enabling controlled binary and gradient material switching within individual continuous fibers.

Flow Characteristics of a Submerged Forward-inclined Gas Jet with Liquid Crossflow [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Applied Fluid Mechanics
This study investigates the interaction of a forward inclined gas jet with a liquid crossflow. The experimental setup contained a submerged gas jet emanating from a round nozzle inclined at an angle of 120° relative to the liquid crossflow.
