Submerged Jet Impingement Cooling of a Nanostructured Plate
Volume 7: Fluid Flow, Heat Transfer and Thermal Systems, Parts A and B, 2010In this paper, the results of a series of heat transfer experiments conducted on a compact electronics cooling device based on single phase jet impingement techniques are reported. Deionized-water is propelled into four microchannels of inner diameter 685 μm which are used as nozzles and located at a nozzle to surface distance of 2.5mm.

Wave Induced Pressures on a Submerged Horizontal Plate
Offshore Technology Conference, 1973ABSTRACT An analytic method is presented whereby the differential pressure distribution on a submerged horizontal flat plate, 'induced by the passage of gravity waves, can be calculated. Plates having cord lengths of the same order of magnitude as the wave length are considered, making the analysis applicable to ...

The weeping characteristic of submerged multi-orifice plate
Chinese Journal of Chemical Engineering, 2020Abstract Weeping is an adverse phenomenon which results in higher pressure drop and poorer aeration performance. Visual experiments have been conducted to study the mechanism by which weeping impairs the work performance of multi-orifice plate. A theoretical model is improved to analyze the weeping phenomenon of multi-orifice plate based on potential

The free vibration analysis of submerged cantilever plates
Ocean Engineering, 2001Abstract Based on empirical added mass formulation, this work presents a simple procedure to determine the vibration frequencies and mode shapes of submerged cantilever plates. Once the added mass formulation is derived, the procedure can be used to analyze free vibration response easily.

Wave Breaking over Submerged Horizontal Plate
Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, 1995The inceptive condition for wave breaking over a submerged horizontal plate is proposed. The incident wave parameter I =gH0/C2h, which reduces to the relative wave height for long waves and is proportional to the wave steepness for deepwater waves, is used as the breaking index.

Maximum and Zero Reflection from Submerged Plate
Journal of Waterway, Port, Coastal, and Ocean Engineering, 1984Wave reflection from a submerged horizontal plate in shallow water varies with the plate width to wavelength ratio and the submergence depth ratio. For a particular submergence, the reflection coefficient increases alternately to a peak value and then decreases to zero.

Wave Focusing Due to a Submerged Crescent Plate
Coastal Engineering in Japan, 1988A wave focusing phenomenon by a submerged thin plate is investigated. A design procedure to determine the best plate shape for concentrating wave trains at a remote focal zone is first proposed.

The wavenumber spectral response of submerged, ribbed plates
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1984The wave vector filter (WVF) concept offers a promising new diagnostic tool for analyzing both structure-borne and fluidborne noise fields. For instance, as with intensity measurements, WVF measurements allow one to distinguish between radiated and nearfield, or incompressible, noise components.

Ultrasonic reflection and transmission by submerged composite plates
1969The observed amplitudes of seismic signals depend directly on the partition of the amplitude of an incident wave front at an interface. Extensive theoretical work has been done on the partition of energy of an incident plane wave at liquid-solid, solid-liquid and solid-solid discontinuities between two semi-infinite media.
