Experimental Study of Water Force Acting on Spur Dike
The water forces acting on spur dike were systematically analyzed under the different influenced factors (flow discharge, water depth, bottom slope, length of spur dike).

Spur dikes are used for river training purposes. To meet the navigability of rivers, the mean annual flow is considered; hence, in terms of river flooding, spur dikes are necessarily submerged.

Biogeography of Atlantic Salmon in the Cape Breton Highlands, Canada
ABSTRACT Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar) populations have experienced significant declines in recent decades. In Canada, conservation efforts are divided into 16 designatable units (DUs) to address unique regional challenges among genetically distinct populations.

Abstract Triploidy is an effective tool for producing sterile fishes but often results in impaired performance in commercial aquaculture. In light of this, our study compared the physiological response to exhaustive exercise in juvenile diploid and triploid Arctic charr Salvelinus alpinus, a polar species with great potential for aquaculture.

Experimental Investigation on 3D Flow around a Single T-Shaped Spur Dike in a Bend [PDF]
The flow field around a T-shaped spur dike located in a 90° bend is investigated experimentally. The three-dimensional Acoustic Doppler Velocimeter (ADV) was used for measuring the flow field.

Abstract Environmental DNA (eDNA) biodiversity surveys have the power to transform the detection of species in natural environments, which is crucial for the conservation and management of freshwater, estuarine and marine environments. Globally, eDNA‐based analyses have increased significantly, with fishes being the most widely studied aquatic ...

EFFECTS OF INCLINATION ANGLE ON 3D UNSTEADY FLOW STRUCTURES AROUND SUBMERGED SPUR DIKES
3D turbulent flow structures around sub-merged spur dikes are numerically investigated focusing on the effects of the inclination angle. The basic equations of the numerical model are derived on a generalized curvilinear movable coordinate system with full-staggered arrangement of hydraulic variables.

ABSTRACT Large‐scale irrigation schemes are central to agrarian transformation in sub‐Saharan Africa, yet their political implications are often reduced to questions of land redistribution or agrarian differentiation. Although existing scholarship has documented how irrigation restructures agrarian relations and generates dispossession, less attention ...

EFFECTS OF HYDRAULIC PARAMETERS ON 3D TURBULENT FLOW STRUCTURES AROUND SUBMERGED SPUR-DIKES
This paper describes the numerical study on 3D turbulent flow structures around submerged spur-dikes. Effects of three hydraulic parameters, S/L (S: interval of two spur dikes, L: length of spur dikes), T/h (T: height of spur dikes, h: depth), θ(=inclination angle), are examined through the comparison of numerical results and previous experimental ...
