Anisotropic Thermal Properties of Electrically Insulating Thin Films and Sheets: A Review

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
Thermally conducting and electrically insulating materials with anisotropy properties play an integral role in advanced thermal management, in particular for electronic devices. This review discusses recent progress in enhancing thermal conductivity and controlling the thermal anisotropy between in‐plane and cross‐plane (through‐thickness) directions ...

A Multimodal In‐Situ Liquid Phase TEM and Electrochemical Study on Boric Acid as Electrolyte Additive for Alkaline Zinc‐Air Batteries

open access: yesSmall Methods, EarlyView.
This study establishes a multimodal correlative workflow to bridge disparate analytical scales in battery research. By linking dynamic in‐situ liquid‐phase TEM at the nanoscale with microscale morphological analysis and macroscale electrochemistry, a comprehensive mechanistic evaluation of electrolyte additives is achieved.

Effect of Hot Rolling Temperature on Oxide Scale Formation, Grain Size, and Pickling of Stainless Steel

open access: yessteel research international, EarlyView.
The effects of finishing rolling temperature, coiling temperature, and annealing on scale formation and pickling performance are studied. Scale morphology and composition are studied via SEM‐EDS, and pickling performance is studied by evaluating scale residues and mass losses during pickling.

Stresses in Above‐Ground Storage Tanks Subjected to Flood‐Borne Debris Impact

open access: yesSafety Science and Technology, EarlyView.
This study investigates the stresses induced in above‐ground storage tanks by flood‐borne debris, specifically steel pipes and wood poles. Findings demonstrate that debris impacts across the examined velocity range generate stresses within safe limits, not exceeding the yield stress threshold.
