Genetic Evidence Supporting a Role for Brain Region Volume and Functional Network Alterations in Major Depression

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Genome‐wide analyses indicate that reduced ventral diencephalon and thalamus volumes, along with decreased functional connectivity within the triple network (DMN/CEN/SN), are uniquely associated with the risk of major depression (MD) onset, compared to other similar severe psychiatric disorders.

Born to Fear the Machine? Genetic and Environmental Influences on Negative Attitudes toward AI Agents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Why do some people fear or distrust AI agents more than others? This twin study shows that negative attitudes toward AI may partly stem from genetic factors, linking them to traits like victim sensitivity and moral beliefs. These findings show that it is not only nurture but also nature that shapes our views of AI, with implications for future human–AI

Magnetic‐Driven Viscous Mechanisms in Ultra‐Soft Magnetorheological Elastomers Offer History‐Dependent Actuation with Reprogrammability Options

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Magnetically induced microstructural rearrangements in ultra‐soft magnetorheological elastomers modulate their viscoelasticity, enabling programmable mechanical memory. Magnetic actuation induces long‐term viscous relaxation and double‐bumping stress responses due to particle chain formation.

Anthocyanins Prevent Mastitis Exacerbation by Inhibiting PANoptosis Activation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
PANoptosis activation is an effective therapeutic target during mastitis progression, and Gasdermin D activation is key factor contributing to blood milk barrier damage during mastitis, while cyanidin 3‐O‐galactoside can inhibit these targets to exert a protective effect. Therefore, the extraction of key active ingredients from plants for the treatment

Astrocytic ET‐1 System Determines Microglia Phenotype Following Spinal Cord Injury

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The study reveals that astrocytic ET‐1 system is solely activated by thrombin following SCI via RhoA/NF‐κB and MAPKs/NF‐κB signal pathway. The release of astrocytic ET‐1 drives microglia polarization toward M1 phenotype through YAP signaling via ETA and ETB receptors.
