Elimination of metoclopramid by the adsorption process (GAC) and ozone process [PDF]

open access: yesE3S Web of Conferences
Existence of pharmaceutical substances in water with different concentrations in natural ecosystems it poses a danger to humans and animals. Conventional methods for water treatment have proven to be relatively ineffective in removing pharmaceutical ...

Relationship between the Amount of Bitter Substances Adsorbed onto Lipid/Polymer Membrane and the Electric Response of Taste Sensors

open access: yesSensors, 2014
The bitterness of bitter substances can be measured by the change in the membrane electric potential caused by adsorption (CPA) using a taste sensor (electronic tongue).

ADSORPTION OF IRON TO BIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCES

open access: yes, 2022
The authors of the article suggest simple and express method of spectrophotometric determination of iron (III) through derivatives of monoammonium salt of glycyrrhizic acid (MASGA). The spectral characteristics of the MASGA-Fe (III) complex - absorption maxima (λmax = 440nm) and the actual molar extinction coefficient (ε = 3,425 × 102) were determined.

The adsorption of substances by Fuller's earth [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the Royal Society of London. Series A, Containing Papers of a Mathematical and Physical Character, 1931
Abstract The utility of fuller’s earth as a decolourising agent in the industrial preparation of oils has long been recognised. More recently also fuller’s earth, in common with other powerful adsorbents has proved of the greatest use in the isolation of rare substances in the laboratory. Despite, however, the importance of fuller’s

Quantitative determination of organic adsorption capacity in the Palaeozoic shales from South China

open access: yesEnergy Exploration & Exploitation, 2021
In this study, the methane adsorption capacity of kerogen isolated from the Cambrian, Silurian, and Permian shales and the impact of soluble organic matter (SOM) on the adsorption capacity of these shales were investigated. The results reveal that 1) the

Preparation and Characterization of Sludge-Based Magnetic Biochar by Pyrolysis for Methylene Blue Removal

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2021
The development of low-cost adsorbent is an urgent need in the field of wastewater treatment. In this study, sludge-based magnetic biochar (SMB) was prepared by pyrolysis of sewage sludge and backwashing iron mud without any chemical agents.

Lichen Substances Affect Metal Adsorption in Hypogymnia physodes

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Ecology, 2006
Lichen substances are known to function as chelators of cations. We tested the hypothesis that lichen substances can control the uptake of toxic metals by adsorbing metal ions at cation exchange sites on cell walls. If true, this hypothesis would help to provide a mechanistic explanation for results of a recent study showing increased production of ...

Removal of Chlorinated Chemicals in H2 Feedstock Using Modified Activated Carbon

open access: yesJournal of Chemistry, 2015
Activated carbon (GAC) was impregnated by sodium and used as adsorbent to remove chlorinated hydrocarbon (CHC) gases contaminated in H2 feedstock. The adsorption was carried out in a continuous packed-bed column under the weight hourly space velocity ...

Influence of Humic Substances on the Sorption Interactions between Lanthanide and Actinide Ions and Clay Minerals

open access: yesAdsorption Science & Technology, 2000
Lanthanide (Eu, Nd, Gd) and actinide (Th, U) adsorption in a system consisting of fulvic acid, metal ions and clay minerals (montmorillonite, kaolinite, illite) was studied as a function of pH, metal ion concentration and fulvic acid concentration using ...
