Optimized Multiband Circularly Polarized Patch Antenna With Coupled Sub‐Patches for Wireless Applications

open access: yesMicrowave and Optical Technology Letters, Volume 67, Issue 10, October 2025.
ABSTRACT In this paper, a high gain multiband patch antenna is designed and analyzed for use in wireless applications. Coupled sub‐patches are integrated around a central hexagonal patch to extend the operating frequency and improve gain across multiple frequency bands.

A 100 GHz Switched Beam Patch Antenna Array With 4  × ${\boldsymbol{\times }}$ 4 Butler Matrix Based on Metallic‐Nanowire‐Filled Membrane

open access: yesMicrowave and Optical Technology Letters, Volume 67, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a switched beam patch antenna array fed by a 4 × 4 Butler Matrix (BM) working at 100 GHz for the first time, based on a novel metallic‐nanowire‐filled membrane technology (MnM). Butler matrix (BM) is well‐known as a simple passive beam‐forming network with low loss to realize switched beam.

An Examination of Aerosol Jet‐Printed Surface Roughness and its Impact on the Performance of High‐Frequency Electronics

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 15, August 2025.
This study explores aerosol jet‐printed (AJP) surface roughness, its effects on the performance of microwave electronics, and its process contributors. First, an electromagnetic model is vetted for AJP's unique roughness signature. Simulations are built which show process‐induced roughness is as significant as conductor resistivity in driving microwave

Mechanical Tuning of Air‐Filled Substrate Integrated Waveguide Cavities by Employing Dielectric Rods

open access: yesMicrowave and Optical Technology Letters, Volume 67, Issue 8, August 2025.
ABSTRACT This study presents a simple method to obtain tunable cavity resonators in air‐filled substrate integrated waveguide (AFSIW) technology. It is based on the insertion of a dielectric rod from an opening placed on a side of the SIW cavity, whose resonance frequency is varied by changing the penetration depth of the rod. To avoid power leakage, a
