State-Space Substructuring with Transmission Simulator

open access: yes, 2016
The dynamic substructuring focus group of SEM organizes sessions on experimental substructuring each IMAC conference and has been doing so for a number of years.

Within-population genetic structure in beech (Fagus sylvatica L.) stands characterized by different disturbance histories: does forest management simplify population substructure? [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
The fine-scale assessment of both spatially and non-spatially distributed genetic variation is crucial to preserve forest genetic resources through appropriate forest management.

Multidimensional Profiling of MRI‐Negative Temporal Lobe Epilepsy Uncovers Distinct Phenotypes

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Although hippocampal sclerosis (TLE‐HS) represents the most frequent cause of temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE), up to 30% of patients show no lesion on visual MRI inspection (TLE‐MRIneg). These cases pose diagnostic and therapeutic challenges and are underrepresented in surgical series.

Bond-graph based substructuring of dynamical systems [PDF]

open access: yes, 2005
A bond graph approach to hybrid simulation of dynamical systems using numerical-experimental real-time substructuring is presented. The bond graph concepts of a virtual junction and a virtual actuator, hitherto used in the context of physical-model based

Energy distribution analysis for low damping systems consisting of multiple subsystems based on the kernel Compliance Analysis (kCA) method extended with the Autonne-Takagi factorization

open access: yesNihon Kikai Gakkai ronbunshu
In the development of mechanical structures, it has been required for a long time to establish a modular design method of resonance by controlling the vibration coupling among subsystems. From the analytical perspective of coupled vibration among modules,

Microstructural Evolution and Vacancy Defect Formation in Mn–Mo–Ni RPV Steel Under Low Cycle Fatigue: Insights From EBSD and PALS

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Low‐cycle fatigue damage in Mn–Mo–Ni reactor pressure vessel steel is examined using a combined electron backscatter diffraction and positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy approach. The study correlates texture evolution, dislocation substructure development, and vacancy‐type defect formation across uniform, necked, and fracture regions, providing

Enhancing Strength and Electrical Conductivity in Al–Zr–Sc Conductor Alloys Through Sn and Sr Microalloying and Two‐Step Aging Treatment

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Trace additions of Sn and Sr combined with a two‐step aging treatment are shown to enhance the microstructure and performance of Al–Zr–Sc conductor alloys. Strength and electrical conductivity increase concurrently through accelerated precipitation of fine Al3(Sc, Zr) precipitates and improved dislocation resistance, offering a cost‐effective pathway ...

Low‐Angle Grain Boundaries and Re‐Segregation in Single‐Crystalline Ni‐Base Superalloys

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
This work demonstrates that Re‐segregation at low‐angle grain boundaries (LAGBs) in Ni‐base superalloys is influenced by misorientation angle. Advanced microscopy and atom probe tomography reveal that higher misorientation angles increases Re‐segregation.

Tracking oscillations in the presence of delay-induced essential instability [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Hybrid experiments, which couple mechanical experiments and computer simulations bidirectionally and in real-time, are a promising experimental technique in engineering.
