Preliminary study on internal carotid artery perfusion imaging and clinical application based on digital subtraction angiography

open access: yesChinese Journal of Contemporary Neurology and Neurosurgery, 2022
Background DSA is an irreplaceable diagnostic method for cerebral vascular disease. It is sensitive to intracranial macrovascular disease, but not to distal blood perfusion. In order to quantitatively assess the perfusion area of the feeding artery, this

Diagnostic determination by diffusion tensor imaging of neural axon injury between the 2 hemispheres following traumatic brain injury

open access: yesRadiology Case Reports, 2023
Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is caused by an external mechanical force to the head resulting in alteration of brain function. However, the injury to neural tracts and the connections between them is difficult to diagnose using traditional imaging ...

A Novel mRNA Level Subtraction Method for Quick Identification of Target-Orientated Uniquely Expressed Genes Between Peanut Immature Pod and Leaf

open access: yesBiological Procedures Online, 2009
Subtraction technique has been broadly applied for target gene discovery. However, most current protocols apply relative differential subtraction and result in great amount clone mixtures of unique and differentially expressed genes.

Subtractive logic

open access: yesTheoretical Computer Science, 2001
AbstractThis paper is the first part of a work whose purpose is to investigate duality in some related frameworks (cartesian closed categories, lambda-calculi, intuitionistic and classical logics) from syntactic, semantical and computational viewpoints.

The intracellular domain of TLR2 is capable of high‐affinity Zn binding: possible outcomes for the receptor activation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Toll‐like receptors (TLRs) are important in the innate immune system. This study explores the zinc‐binding ability of the TLR2 TIR domain (TLR2TIR). We found that TLR2TIR binds zinc with nanomolar affinity through its cysteine residues. Two of them, C673 and C713, are vital for receptor activation, indicating that zinc may play a role in initiating ...

The Relationship Between Problem Size and Fixation Patterns During Addition, Subtraction, Multiplication, and Division

open access: yesJournal of Numerical Cognition, 2016
Eye-tracking methods have only rarely been used to examine the online cognitive processing that occurs during mental arithmetic on simple arithmetic problems, that is, addition and multiplication problems with single-digit operands (e.g., operands 2 ...

Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Learning Scenario to Promote Comprehension of the Meaning of Subtraction

open access: yesEducation Sciences, 2021
The integration of virtual manipulatives in classroom practices facilitates student learning processes. For this, the teacher must understand how to support students in establishing mathematical connections between the manipulation and their ...

A Method for 21cm Power Spectrum Estimation in the Presence of Foregrounds

open access: yes, 2011
21cm tomography promises to be a powerful tool for estimating cosmological parameters, constraining the epoch of reionization, and probing the so-called dark ages.
