NNLO antenna subtraction with two hadronic initial states

open access: yes, 2010
We discuss the extension of the antenna subtraction method to include two hadrons in the initial state (initial-initial antennae) at next-to-next-to-leading order.

The (Glg)ABCs of cyanobacteria: modelling of glycogen synthesis and functional divergence of glycogen synthases in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

A Method for 21cm Power Spectrum Estimation in the Presence of Foregrounds

open access: yes, 2011
21cm tomography promises to be a powerful tool for estimating cosmological parameters, constraining the epoch of reionization, and probing the so-called dark ages.

Structural insights into an engineered feruloyl esterase with improved MHET degrading properties

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
A feruloyl esterase was engineered to mimic key features of MHETase, enhancing the degradation of PET oligomers. Structural and computational analysis reveal how a point mutation stabilizes the active site and reshapes the binding cleft, expading substrate scope.

General formulation of the sector-improved residue subtraction

open access: yes, 2014
The main theoretical tool to provide precise predictions for scattering cross sections of strongly interacting particles is perturbative QCD. Starting at next-to-leading order (NLO) the calculation suffers from unphysical IR-divergences that cancel in ...

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Smooth quantum-classical transition in photon subtraction and addition processes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Recently Parigi et al. [Science 317, 1890 (2007)] implemented experimentally the photon subtraction and addition processes from/to a light field in a conditional way, when the required operations were produced successfully only upon the positive outcome ...

Cell surface interactome analysis identifies TSPAN4 as a negative regulator of PD‐L1 in melanoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Using cell surface proximity biotinylation, we identified tetraspanin TSPAN4 within the PD‐L1 interactome of melanoma cells. TSPAN4 negatively regulates PD‐L1 expression and lateral mobility by limiting its interaction with CMTM6 and promoting PD‐L1 degradation.

Subtraction at NNLO

open access: yes, 2004
We propose a framework for the implementation of a subtraction formalism at NNLO in QCD, based on an observable- and process-independent cancellation of infrared singularities. As a first simple application, we present the calculation of the contribution
