Improving the spatial resolution by effective subtraction technique at Irkutsk incoherent scatter radar: the theory and experiment [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We describe a sounding technique that allows us to improve spatial resolution of Irkutsk Incoherent Scatter Radar without loosing spectral resolution. The technique is based on transmitting of rectangle pulses of different duration in various sounding runs and subtracting correlation matrixes.

Effective subtraction technique: implementation for Irkutsk Incoherent Scatter Radar

open access: diamondSolar-Terrestrial Physics
For incoherent scatter measurements, the effective subtraction technique is to alternate the duration of amplitude-modulated signals between a pair of consequently radiated pulses.

A TECHNIQUE FOR FOREGROUND SUBTRACTION IN REDSHIFTED 21 cm OBSERVATIONS [PDF]

open access: bronze, 2012
One of the main challenges for future 21 cm observations is to remove foregrounds which are several orders of magnitude more intense than the HI signal. We propose a new technique for removing foregrounds of the redshifted 21 cm observations. We consider

Removing ECG Artifact from the Surface EMG Signal Using Adaptive Subtraction Technique [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Biomedical Physics and Engineering, 2014
Background: The electrocardiogram artifact is a major contamination in the electromyogram signals when electromyogram signal is recorded from upper trunk muscles and because of that the contaminated electromyogram is not useful.

MOVING OBJECT DETECTION USING SPATIAL CORRELATION IN LAB COLOUR SPACE [PDF]

open access: yesThe International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences, 2019
Background subtraction-based techniques of moving object detection are very common in computer vision programs. Each technique of background subtraction employs image thresholding algorithms.
