The Caenorhabditis elegans DPF‐3 and human DPP4 have tripeptidyl peptidase activity
The dipeptidyl peptidase IV (DPPIV) family comprises serine proteases classically defined by their ability to remove dipeptides from the N‐termini of substrates, a feature that gave the family its name. Here, we report the discovery of a previously unrecognized tripeptidyl peptidase activity in DPPIV family members from two different species.

All Optical Signal-Processing Techniques Utilizing Four Wave Mixing
Four Wave Mixing (FWM) based optical signal-processing techniques are reviewed. The use of FWM in arithmetical operation like subtraction, wavelength conversion and pattern recognition are three key parts discussed in this paper after a brief ...

A general algorithm to build mixed real and virtual antenna functions for higher-order calculations
The antenna-subtraction technique has demonstrated remarkable effectiveness in providing next-to-next-to-leading order in α s (NNLO) predictions for a wide range of processes relevant for the Large Hadron Collider.

Background subtraction techniques: a review [PDF]
Background subtraction is a widely used approach for detecting moving objects from static cameras. Many different methods have been proposed over the recent years and both the novice and the expert can be confused about their benefits and limitations.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

GPI PSF subtraction with TLOCI: the next evolution in exoplanet/disk high-contrast imaging
To directly image exoplanets and faint circumstellar disks, the noisy stellar halo must be suppressed to a high level. To achieve this feat, the angular differential imaging observing technique and the least-squares Locally Optimized Combination of ...

Crossed-leg technique for digital subtraction angiography [PDF]
Intraarterial digital subtraction angiography (IADSA) is now well recognized as a preferred technique in the evaluation of peripheral vascular disease [1 -3]. In the study of the lower extremity the method is limited seriously by field size, motion of the part, and the air gap between both lower extremities. These limitations are substantially overcome

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Foreground Contamination in Interferometric Measurements of the Redshifted 21 cm Power Spectrum
Subtraction of astrophysical foreground contamination from "dirty" sky maps produced by simulated measurements of the Murchison Widefield Array (MWA) has been performed by fitting a 3rd-order polynomial along the spectral dimension of each pixel in the ...
