Controlling Selectivity at the First Hydrogenation Level: Synthesis of 3-Hydroxyisoindolines by Heterogeneously Silver-Catalyzed Monohydrogenation of Phthalimides. [PDF]

open access: yesAdv Sci (Weinh)
3‐Hydroxylactams are obtained from phthalimides through a heterogeneous catalyzed chemoselective hydrogenation, able to stop the process at the first hydrogenation level. By using a rationally designed [Ag/Al2O3] recyclable solid nanocatalyst, a wide range of cyclic hemiamidals are accesed through a full atom‐economical reaction that preserves (hetero ...

Alloying Engineering of Defective Molybdenum Sulfide Basal Planes for Enhanced Borrowing Hydrogen Activity in the Thioetherification of Alcohols. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem
Tungsten alloying makes the difference: The synthesis of thioethers from readily available alcohols and thiols is achieved by a borrowing‐hydrogen methodology applying alloyed molybdenum and tungsten sulfide catalysts engineered from molecular cluster complexes.

From Genetics to Psychosocial Functioning: Unraveling the Mediating Roles of Cognitive Reserve, Cognition, and Negative Symptoms in First-Episode Psychosis. [PDF]

open access: yesActa Psychiatr Scand
ABSTRACT Background Studies have shown associations between polygenic risk scores for educational attainment (PRSEA), cognitive reserve (CR), cognition, negative symptoms (NS), and psychosocial functioning in first‐episode psychosis (FEP). However, their specific interactions remain unclear.

Catalytic Reductive Alcohol Etherifications with Carbonyl-Based Compounds or CO2 and Related Transformations for the Synthesis of Ether Derivatives. [PDF]

open access: yesChemSusChem, 2021
Reductive etherification: Carbonyl‐based compounds and CO2 are employed as alkyl sources in alcohol reductive etherifications using external reducing agents (Si−H reagents or H2). By applying such protocols, an extensive range of symmetrical/asymmetrical ether derivatives with a high structural complexity can be efficiently produced.

Mitochondrial changes associated with viral infectious diseases in the paediatric population. [PDF]

open access: yesRev Med Virol, 2021
Summary Infectious diseases occur worldwide with great frequency in both adults and children, causing 350,000 deaths in 2017, according to the latest World Health Organization reports. Both infections and their treatments trigger mitochondrial interactions at multiple levels: (i) incorporation of damaged or mutated proteins into the complexes of the ...

Silver Supported Nanoparticles on [Mg4Al‐LDH] as an Efficient Catalyst for the α‐Alkylation of Nitriles, Oxindoles and Other Carboxylic Acid Derivatives with Alcohols

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 16, Issue 23, December 7, 2023., 2023
Alcohols are used as accessible and safe C‐alkylation agents to produce α‐functionalized nitriles or oxindoles and 2‐quinolinones via borrowing hydrogen strategy mediated by a [Mg4Al‐LDH]‐supported silver nanoparticle catalyst. Combination of a suitable basic LDH support together with homogeneously distributed silver metallic centers are the key ...

Network anatomy in logopenic variant of primary progressive aphasia

open access: yesHuman Brain Mapping, Volume 44, Issue 11, Page 4390-4406, August 1, 2023., 2023
In this cross‐sectional and longitudinal multimodal MR imaging study, we showed that logopenic variant of primary progressive aphasia (lvPPA) symptomatology and longitudinal atrophy progression relate to anatomical changes in two partly overlapping functional networks anchored to two left temporoparietal epicenters.

The impact of Pleistocene glaciations and environmental gradients on the genetic structure of Embothrium coccineum

open access: yesEcology and Evolution, Volume 12, Issue 11, November 2022., 2022
Using 2155 SNPs we detected two main genetic groups, which have diverged some 2.5 million years ago, in Embothrium coccineum. Both glacial cycles and selection to the strong environmental gradients have largely shaped the genetic diversity of this native Chilean tree.

Implementación de políticas de prevención y control de la obesidad infantil en Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica: lecciones para la investigación y la práctica transfronterizas

open access: yesObesity Reviews, Volume 22, Issue S5, Octubre 2021., 2021
