Subwavelength antireflection structures and their device applications
We report the subwavelength antireflection structures in various semiconductor materials such as Si, ZnO, and GaP/light emitting diode (LED) structure for LED and solar cell applications in the visible and near-infrared wavelength region, together with the rigorous coupled wave analysis simulation. Subwavelength structures are fabricated by holographic

Super Black Material from Low-Density Carbon Aerogels with Subwavelength Structures
Many scientists have devoted themselves to the study of the interaction between subwavelength structures and electromagnetic waves. These structures are commonly composed of regular arrays of subwavelength protuberances, which can be artificially ...

Subwavelength structures in integrated optics
Optical Fiber Communication Conference/National Fiber Optic Engineers Conference 2013, 2013Subwavelenth structures offer exciting new opportunities for integrated optics. Effective refractive index can be chosen from a broad range by lithographic patterning using just two materials. Many practical subwavelength engineered devices already demonstrated, with superior performance compared to their conventional counterparts and likely many more ...

Subwavelength structures for infrared filtering
SPIE Proceedings, 2010This work deals with the replacement of the reflection layer stacks by sub-wavelength structures, which form the cavity of Fabry-Perot-Interferometer (FPI) infrared filters. Periodically arranged metal ring resonators are investigated regarding reflectivity and sensitivity with respect to polarization angle by Finite Difference Method (FDM) analysis.

Phase gratings with subwavelength structures
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1995Polarization-selective gratings are designed by use of rigorous electromagnetic diffraction theory. The polarizing effects are attained by special surface-relief structures. We present a scheme for coding two different optical functions in one diffractive element.

Microscopy of subwavelength structures
Physics-Uspekhi, 1996A more accurate formulation of the Abbe theory is presented using well-known open resonator results, namely, field representation in terms of the eigenfunctions of the optical system viewed as a segment of an equivalent lens waveguide; and the use of the mirror Fresnel number dependence of the diffraction losses of high-order Gaussian beams for ...

Subwavelength structure imaging
Optical Engineering, 2004We expand conventional superresolving imaging systems toward extraction of suboptical wavelength structures. An imaging system that is capable of imaging subwavelength details is presented. Homogeneous waves carrying information on spatial frequencies exceeding the classical limit of resolution can be created by diffraction of evanescent waves.

Subwavelength imaging with a multilayer silver film structure
Optics Letters, 2006A Ag/SiO2 multilayer imaging structure is shown to have subwavelength performance. Loss is the major limitation, and selection of low-loss materials and suitable operating wavelengths has a significant impact on performance. The influence of the variables is presented, and vortices are shown to exist.
