Femtosecond Microfabrication of Subwavelength Photonic Structures
2006 European Conference on Optical Communications, 2006The fabrication of sub-micron photonic structures beyond diffraction limit is demonstrated by means of tightly focused laser pulses. 25 mm long periodic structure with a pitch size of 260 nm is experimentally produced. Detailed numerical modelling is performed to establish mechanisms of such inscription.

Polarization separation element (subwavelength structure)
SPIE Proceedings, 2005In many applications, where the period of a grating structure is less than the wavelength of the incident light, the grating structure will function more like a medium of uniform index of refraction than as a normal grating. The effective medium index being equivalent to the volume mean index of the grating structure.

High-Q subwavelength dielectric structures
Smart Photonic and Optoelectronic Integrated Circuits XXIII, 2021Recent progress is nanoscale photonics is driven by the physics of Mie resonances of high-index dielectric nanoparticles that provides a novel platform for localization of light in subwavelength photonic structures and opens new horizons for metamaterial-enabled photonics, or metaphotonics.

Subwavelength structures for broadband antireflection application
Optics Communications, 2009The subwavelength structures are designed and fabricated for broadband antireflection application. Under target of zero reflectivity, the parameters of periodic 2-D continuous conical structures are analyzed by the finite-difference time-domain (FDTD) method.

Subwavelength interference of light on structured surfaces
Advances in Optics and Photonics, 2018This paper presents a review of the subwavelength interference effects of light in structured surfaces. Starting from the anomalous interference in simple structures such as double nanoslits, thin films, and catenary apertures, the theories and applications of light–matter interaction in layered, periodic, and aperiodic subwavelength structures are ...

Optical Elements with Subwavelength Structured Surfaces
Optical Review, 2003Various optical elements with subwavelength structured surfaces have been developed. The periods of the subwavelength structures are too short to generate diffracted light waves. But the structures are equivalent to refractive index materials with form birefringence.

Subwavelength structures and their use in diffractive optics
Optical Engineering, 1996A novel design for imitating continuous phase profiles by bi- nary subwavelength structures is presented. The working principle has recently been shown for regular gratings like beam deflectors (Haidner et al., 1993) or polarizing beamsplitters (Collischon et al., 1994). Our objective is to transfer this principle to non-strictly periodic gratings such

Subwavelength structures for polarization manupulation

Nanophotonic and Subwavelength Structures for Sensing and Biosensing
2010Nanophotonic structures exhibit a large variety of effects on the nanoscale that can be used for biosensing in a biochip format. The resonance nature of these structures then allows high sensitivity to analytes, gases, or other external index perturbations down to the order of 10−8 refractive index unit.
