When should firms watch for cross‐industry competition? A demand‐side perspective

open access: yesStrategic Management Journal, Volume 47, Issue 3, Page 893-941, March 2026.
Abstract Research Summary Research on competitor identification has primarily focused on intra‐industry competition. However, cross‐industry competitive threats are prevalent and consequential. We adopt a consumer‐oriented perspective to examine how consumer perceptions shape de facto competition across industry boundaries.

Compelling private sport speech

open access: yesAmerican Business Law Journal, Volume 63, Issue 1, Page 79-99, Spring 2026.
Abstract The intermingling of sport and political speech has become increasingly poignant. Although basketball star Michael Jordan has now clarified that his famous statement that “Republicans buy sneakers, too” was made in jest when asked about why he did not make political statements, Michael Jordan was well within his rights to avoid the political ...

Contribution of non‐orthogonal multiple access signalling to practical multibeam satellite deployments

open access: yesInternational Journal of Satellite Communications and Networking, Volume 44, Issue 1, Page 73-88, January/February 2026.
The potential gains of NOMA were evaluated in a satellite system with heterogeneous receivers, after considering the use of specific DVB‐S2X MODCODs, along with the impact of non‐linearities. It was concluded that a judicious power allocation in NOMA, jointly optimized with the IBO of the PAs, can yield significant sum‐rate gains.
