Special types of sucker-rod pumps
Chemical and Petroleum Engineering, 2008New types of oil-well sucker-rod pumps developed by Ekogermet-M for oil production are described. All of the major units of these series-made pumps, namely, valve pairs and components, filters, draining devices, and casings of the pumps, have been improved.

New Tubingless Sucker Rod Pump System in Slim Holes
Proceedings of Production and Operations Symposium, 2007Abstract In this paper, slim hole refers that the nominal diameter of production casing is less than 5 inch. In many problem wells, production casing is destroyed and new casing is reinstalled to continue oil production. And sidetrack drilling in old well is an effective method to find residual oil.

New Concepts in Sucker-Rod Pump Design
Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1969New streamlined sucker-rod pumps improve production performance of viscous crude wells in Venezuela. The simple two-stage version further improves the volumetric and power efficiency and minimizes pounding, gaslock and rod fall problems. pounding, gaslock and rod fall problems.

Sucker Rod Pumping Systems Design -Another Look
Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1981ABSTRACT This paper presents a computer generated three dimensional design profile of gear box torque, maximum rod stress, and peak beam load as a function of pumping speed and pumping depth. This approach can be used to quickly define the optimum operating limits of any beam pumping system.

A Tool To Eliminate Common Sucker Rod Pump Problems
Proceedings of Permian Basin Oil and Gas Recovery Conference, 1988ABSTRACT This paper describes a tool which employs simple mechanical technology to solve common sucker rod problems of gas locking and sticking without undesirable impact and wear on the pumping equipment.

On Leakage Issues of Sucker Rod Pumping Systems
Journal of Fluids Engineering, 2019The issues of leakage with respect to the clearance between the pump plunger outer diameter and the pump barrel inner diameter and other operation conditions have been revisited in this paper. Both Poiseuille flow rate due to the pressure difference and Couette flow rate due to the plunger motion have been considered.

Sucker-Rod-Pumping Failures in the Permian Basin
Proceedings of SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition, 1999Abstract Sucker rod pumping is the most popular form of artificial lift in the Permian Basin, which is one of the largest petroleum production basins in the United States. This paper is part of the research results of the Artificial Lift Energy Optimization Consortium (ALEOC),a research project which is sponsored by 11 oil companies ...

Predicting the Behavior of Sucker-Rod Pumping Systems
Journal of Petroleum Technology, 1963Introduction Sucker-rod pumping systems are used in approximately 90 per cent of artificially lifted wells. In view of this wide application, it behooves the industry to have a fundamental understanding of the sucker-rod pumping process. Oddly enough, our understanding has been rather superficial.
