Substitution of sugar cane bagasse in the chicken diet and immune response
Nahrung/Food, 2001Total proteins and protein electrophoresis were made in the sera of broiler chicken (Arber Acres) to evaluate the effect of substitution of basal diet for 4 weeks by either 8% sugar cane bagasse +2% wheat germ or 16% sugar cane bagasse +4% wheat germ whether untreated or incubated with rumen liquor for 72 h and then sterilized with 2 Mrad gamma ...

Enhancing of sugar cane bagasse hydrolysis by Annulohypoxylon stygium glycohydrolases
Bioresource Technology, 2015The aim of this study was to develop a bioprocess for the production of β-glucosidase and pectinase from the fungus Annulohypoxylon stygium DR47. Media optimization and bioreactor cultivation using citrus bagasse and soybean bran were explored and revealed a maximum production of 6.26 U/mL of pectinase at pH 4.0 and 10.13 U/mL of β-glucosidase at pH 5 ...

Pretreatment of sugar cane bagasse hemicellulose hydrolysate for xylitol production by yeast
Applied Biochemistry and Biotechnology, 1996A total of six known xylitol-producing yeast strains were screened for production of xylitol from xylose. Candida sp. 11-2 proved to be the best producer. It was chosen to study its ability to produce xylitol from hemicellulose hydrolysate derived from sugar cane bagasse.

Pyrolysis of Sugar Cane Bagasse in a Wire-Mesh Reactor
Industrial & Engineering Chemistry Research, 1996Improved experimental techniques are described, using a wire mesh reactor, for determining the pyrolysis yields of lignocellulosic materials. In this apparatus pyrolysis tars are rapidly swept from the hot zone of the reactor and quenched, secondary reactions are thereby greatly diminished.

SUGAR CANE CROP RESIDUES AND BAGASSE FOR COGENERATION IN BRAZIL
2007 Minneapolis, Minnesota, June 17-20, 2007, 2007Abstract: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the sugar cane biomass energy potential (bagasse and crop residues) which could be used for energy co-generation in Brazil. Two different scenarios were used regarding the crop residues utilization. A minimum usage in addition to the bagasse results in 20,94 .

The effect of fire retardants on combustion and pyrolysis of sugar-cane bagasse
Bioresource Technology, 2011Experiments were conducted by thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) and cone calorimetry to measure the affect of three fire retardants (ammonium sulphate, boric acid and borax) on the mass-loss rate and combustion characteristics of sugar-cane bagasse. Compared with untreated bagasse, bagasse impregnated with aqueous solutions of 0.1-0.5M fire retardants

Technical and Economical Feasibility of Production of Ethanol from Sugar Cane and Sugar Cane Bagasse
2005The primary aim of this study is to investigate and analyze the sugar-ethanol plants operating in Brazil to construct a raw model to gain better understanding and insight about the technical and economical aspects of the currently operating plants. And, the secondary aim is to combine the knowledge gathered from the currently existing plant with the ...
