Edible Jumpers Powered by Shell Snapping

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, Volume 10, Issue 8, April 17, 2025.
This work demonstrates an entirely edible, centimeter‐scale jumper by instantly releasing elastic energy through shell snapping. It can jump up to 36 cm, comparable to previous non‐edible jumpers. Moreover, this jumper can be loaded with an edible latch to trigger the jumping upon humidity stimulus autonomously.
