Potential of the production of Lentinula edodes (shiitake) mushrooms on agro-industrial residues, such as cassava bagasse and sugarcane bagasse, is evaluated under solid state fermentation. Visual observations in flaskes and also plastic bags indicated good growth on these substrates.
