The role of tropical forest fragment vegetation in maintaining arthropod diversity and spillover to adjacent sugarcane fields O papel da vegetação de fragmentos de floresta tropical na manutenção da diversidade de artrópodes e na sua disseminação para campos de cana‐de‐açúcar adjacentes

open access: yesAgricultural and Forest Entomology, Volume 28, Issue 1, Page 82-93, February 2026.
Tree diversity increases arthropod richness and the abundance of beneficial arthropod groups within Atlantic Forest fragments. Higher insect richness in forest fragments is associated with greater richness in adjacent sugarcane fields, and both habitats share insect families, suggesting spillover.

Riding the monsoon: Geography and Iron Age trade in the Indian Ocean

open access: yesThe Economic History Review, Volume 79, Issue 1, Page 312-341, February 2026.
Abstract This paper exploits ancient textual sources to develop a database of ancient trade in the Indian Ocean and model trade in the region during the Iron Age. Wind‐speed data are used to construct a gravity model of trade and are combined with detailed textual data from the Periplus of the Erythraean Sea to analyse historical development trends in ...

Relationships Between Soil Phosphorus Fractions and Greenhouse Gas Emissions in Degraded Red and Black Soils Amended With Magnesium Treated Biochar

open access: yesGCB Bioenergy, Volume 18, Issue 2, February 2026.
The use of pristine and Mg‐modified biochar under acidic soils is of great interest. The biochar addition increases the pH of acidic soils and improves the soil health, and side by side increases the availability of nutrients such as phosphorus. Furthermore, the current study also documented that with the addition of biochar, greenhouse gas emission ...

Sustainable bioceramics, biopolymers, and composites for bone applications: From bench to production

open access: yesInternational Journal of Applied Ceramic Technology, Volume 23, Issue 1, February 2026.
Abstract In response to environmental challenges and primary resource scarcity, sustainable approaches that rely on recycling and reusing waste materials are becoming highly valuable and appealing options in modern society. These strategies have started being applied in biomaterials science, too, leading to the advent of new synergies between ...
