Astragalus polysaccharide and sulfated epimedium polysaccharide synergistically resist the immunosuppression

Carbohydrate Polymers, 2012
The immunoenhancement of compound polysaccharides, APS-sEPS composed with astragalus polysaccharide (APS) and sulfated epimedium polysaccharide (sEPS), was observed in immunosuppressed model chicken induced by cyclophosphamide (Cy). 11-day-old chickens were injected with Cy once a day for three successive days except vaccine control group.

A sulfated polysaccharide from Dictyosphaeria cavernosa: Structural characterization and effect on immunosuppressive recovery.

International Journal of Biological Macromolecules, 2023
A homogeneous sulfated polysaccharide DCS1 was obtained from Dictyosphaeria cavernosa by alkali extraction and chromatography purification. On the basis of chemical and spectroscopic analyses, DCS1 was a novel mannan-type sulfated polysaccharide and had ...

The possible mechanism of the protective effect of a sulfated polysaccharide from Gracilaria Lemaneiformis against colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium in mice.

Food and Chemical Toxicology, 2021
This study aimed to investigate the possible mechanism of the protective effect of a sulfated polysaccharide (SP) from Gracilaria Lemaneiformis against colitis induced by dextran sulfate sodium (DSS). Balb/c mice were gavaged with SP for four weeks, then

Sulfated Seaweed Polysaccharides

2021
Mankind has used natural resources for many different applications, from food and clothes to drugs, but only recently is giving the due attention to the need for a responsible management of these resources toward sustainability. One of the approaches is to take the most out of its resources, addressing the several components of natural resources, which

Sulfation of Polysaccharides using Monomethyl Sulfate

Journal of Carbohydrate Chemistry, 2000
ABSTRACT The polysaccharides, curdlan, starch and dextran were sulfated when heated in DMSO with sodium methyl sulfate and a catalytic amount of H2SO4 or with pyridinium methyl sulfate. Use of diminished pressure and anhydrous CaSO4 as a desiccant improved the degree of sulfation and recovery.

Synthetic photocrosslinkable polysaccharide sulfates

European Polymer Journal, 2010
Abstract Photoactive derivatives of dextran and pullulan with high degree of substitution were prepared by an efficient and mild esterification of the biopolymers with [(4-methyl-2-oxo-2H-chromen-7-yl)oxy] acetic acid via in situ activation of the carboxylic acid with N,N′- carbonyldiimidazole.
